If there is one thing I know about making any public show consistantly interesting, it is to make sure to have some unexpected surprises. Sure...there are features that we all like to see each year and some features that are just so cool, you demand to see more, (like our Shelby Snakepit and Baldwin-Motion Madness displays!), but even then, we want to be sure they are fresh and most importantly, exciting.
With that being said, I want to tell you about something that we will have at the show that is truly unique and incredibly interesting. One of the very first entries we recieved is for the real-deal Ramo Stott Nascar Superbird. Yep...you read that right; the real thing! With all of the re-bodies and regular updates that are made to race cars, who would think that a 1970's vintage racer like this would have survived, let alone wearing its' original body panels!
We talked to the current owner/caretaker, Doug Schellinger, at the Chicagoland Mopar Connection swap meet last weekend and he is really excited about sharing this historical automobile with MCACN participants and spectators. And if you want to know the full story, you'll be able to get it, as Doug is also the head of the Daytona Superbird Auto Club. Check out www.superbirdclub.com for more pics and some great wing car stuff.
But that's not all...stay tuned as we are working on several other related features that will ensure that this year, we will again be making history!
