Part of the big news for the
Muscle Car and Corvette Nationals
this year is that we are hosting the largest
gathering ever of real-deal, fully documented
426 Hemi Mopar E-body convertibles. This display
will include 1970 426 Hemi Challenger R/T
convertible, along with both ‘70 and ‘71 426 Hemi
‘Cuda convertibles. Unless you have been hiding
under a rock, you know these are at the top of the
list when it comes to rarity and desirability in
the Muscle Car world, no matter what brand you
like best. If you were at the MCACN
show last year, you saw the gorgeous B5 blue ‘71
‘Cuda that the Mecum team sold in Seattle, setting
a world record for an American Muscle Car sold at
auction, with a final hammer price of 3.5 million
dollars. Well...get ready, because this year at
MCACN
you’ll see a whopping twenty-five 426
Hemi E-body converts, and with some
luck, maybe 26! What you will see are restored and
unrestored examples that are coming in from all
across the country, and also Canada. Each and
every one is real with full documentation and
known history, absolutely no “clones” or tributes.
Now that is reason enough to join us, but then
we have the other 500+ cars and trucks and the
best of the best in automotive vendors and
restorers that are coming in.
So, how can you join in
on the fun? Well, this weekend one of these
coveted drop tops is crossing the auction block in
Monterey at the
Mecum Daytime Auction, and YOU
can bid to own. Of course, if you are the
lucky winner of the final bid, we want to extend
this personal invitation to join us for our record
setting gathering. This gorgeous example has
impressive history, being an executive car
formerly owned by John Herlitz. This beauty is
triple black and is one of just nine built with
the Torqueflite automatic. The Mecum team is
expecting bids in the 2.5-3 million dollar range,
so don’t let this exceptionally rare opportunity
pass you buy! These cars rarely come to the
market, so if you have the means, we hope you can
add this incredible machine to your collection and
then join us November 21-22 to make even more
history!
We are truly honored to
be able to host this amazing group of automobiles.
We salute the owners who have made the commitment
to share these automotive treasures with all of us
so that you can see them in person. You will also
be able to meet many of
the owners and hear the stories and history.
And let's not forget, we will also be offering a Limited Edition (200)
hardcover book that will tell some of the history
of each of the participating cars. These books
will be available only at the show!
