GREAT YEAR
FOR FORDS! BOSS 351 INVITATIONAL AT MCACN
The Muscle Car and
Corvette Nationals show is about all brands
of massively over-powered American Muscle and the
finest Corvettes. Of course, each year certain
brands tend to come to the forefront of our show. We
announced a while back that we will be hosting a
special
Cars of Shelby Invitational
display this year that will rival last years Hemi
E-Body convertible display, (think Cobra’s,
One-offs, GT40’s and the rarest Shelby’s!) featuring
26 of the absolute best Shelby American automobiles
ever built. Shelby’s to the left and Cobra’s and
GT40’s to the right!
Those won’t be the only Ford’s and Mercury’s you’ll
see at MCACN this year. We will have several
Official Unveilings for Ford
Muscle, including what may be the rarest and
most unexpected Mercury you’ll ever see, and
something very special to go along with our
“Class of ‘71” Anniversary display. Over
the years we played host to an incredible Boss 429
display featuring all of the production colors, and
of course last years Boss 302 Invitational display.
These two were coordinated by Bob Perkins along with
Rick Campbell and Jim Cunningham. This year Rick
will be unveiling an incredible ‘69 Shelby G.T. 500,
and Bob will be joining us with his own personal
Boss 351, an absolutely incredible unrestored
original with a mere 1,200 miles on the
odometer!
Coordinated by Rick
Ybarra, Jr., we will be hosting a gathering which
will feature the finest Boss 351’s in the world. You
will see unrestored originals (like Bob’s), original
owner cars and with any luck, we will again showcase
all of the available colors. To make things
even better, we are pleased to announce that Mr.
Ybarra recently completed an outstanding book
dedicated to the Boss 351’s titled Boss
351, A Comprehensive Owners Guide and Story.
I received my copy last week and let me just say it
is hands down the most complete book ever written on
these cars. With well over 200 pages in an easy to
use spiral-bound format, Rick covers everything from
drivetrains and options to VIN information, along
with a variety of owner stories, Marti reports and
full information on restoring your Boss 351. There
are pages of pictures and even a chapter on the
ultra rare 1972 R-Code Mustangs. I especially enjoy
the variety of photos with VINS and registry
information on known cars. This is an absolute
must have for any Boss 351 enthusiast, and Rick
will be selling and signing them at the show. We are
thrilled to add this “feature within a feature” to
our Class of ‘71 Invitational
display. If you own or know of a real Boss 351,
whether stock or modified, we would love to hear
from you!

We are now preparing for
Dana Mecums 29th Annual
Spring Classic, May 17-21. We will have an onsite
display, so please make a point of stopping by. I
will be accepting applications for cars and
automotive related vendors, or if you prefer, sign
up now through our website,
www.mcacn.com.
We have an incredible amount of cool things locked
in already and we are committed to “raising the bar”
again this year. I would love to hear your
thoughts and idea’s and I welcome all input.
The 8th Annual Muscle Car and Corvette Nationals
show will take place Saturday, November 19, from 9
am – 9 pm, and Sunday November 20, from 9 am – 5 pm.
We will fill nearly 400,000 square feet of exhibit
space at the beautiful Donald E. Stephens Convention
Center in Rosemont, (suburban Chicago) Illinois,
just minutes from the Chicago O’Hare airport. Join
us to see over 500 of the hottest massively
overpowered examples of American Muscle, many rarely
or ever shown to the public, along with the best
automotive related only vendors and restorers.
