Muscle Bike “Show Within a
Show” Is All About FUN!
At the Muscle Car and Corvette
Nationals show, we pride ourselves in keeping the show interesting and
most importantly, fun. A few years back we added our “Show within a Show”
sponsored by Koolestuff, featuring 60’s and 70’s Muscle
Bicycles. Many of you know we have a rather extensive collection, and like
many, dreamed of owning a Schwinn Orange Krate back in the day. Well for
my birthday back in 1968, my Dad took me to Bob’s Bike Shop in Washington,
Michigan. Although I couldn’t talk him into buying me that Orange Krate,
(it was an outrageous $86.95!) I did go home with a beautiful blue DeLuxe
Stingray. Of course, I would add the tall sissy bar and a variety of other
accessories and the rest, as they say, is history! Fast forward to the
80’s when Ian was born. As he grew up, Ian started getting into
bikes, although they would be of the BMX and Freestyle variety. We would
visit our local bike shop weekly and Ian would even end up attending the
world famous Camp Woodward freestyle bike camp in Pennsylvania. We would
go to garage sales and flea markets, hoping to find one of the elusive
Krate bikes. Although we never found one, we did end up with a collection
of Stingrays, and we would soon find out that the eight bikes we had
collected were all different years. And that is how we ended up being
somewhat out of control Muscle Bike collectors!
Those of you who have shown with us
over the years know that I get around the show floor during set-up on a
bicycle. It is not uncommon for participants to stop me and say “Hey,
I have my old bike like that back in the barn!” And so a few years
back we asked participants to bring their bikes, just for fun for a small
display. And that is where our “Show within a Show” started. No
competition, no judging, just a fun display, where we encourage you to
join us with your Muscle Bike, whether it has some bumps and bruises or
has been restored to perfection. It’s all about fun and believe me,
explaining to your son or daughter why bikes don’t have that funny stick
shift thing is worth the effort!

Of course, with our goal of always
keeping things fresh, we will be adding something new this year. In
addition to the variety of Schwinn, Ross, Raleigh, Sears, Murray and
other Muscle Bikes, we will also have a fantastic group of ten Schwinn
BMX bikes from the Wayne Shurson Collection. Wayne has some of the
finest vintage Schwinn BMX bikes in the country and he will show the
history of these pedal powered beasts from 1976-1980. But
wait...that’s not all! Gary Wold owner of
Koolestuff
and our Official Sponsor of our bicycle show, will also present
our very first Official Unveiling of a freshly restored and
first time show Muscle Bike this year! Yep...always keeping
things fresh!
We are committed to making sure the
show is always fun and family friendly and never stale. This is just one
of the many family friendly activities we have, which also includes our
Free Model Car “make and take”, the Hot Wheels races, our kids scavenger
hunt and more. We need to keep this great hobby going, so please plan on
joining us and bring the whole family! And remember, kids 12 and
under always get in FREE with an Adult.
We will be attending the huge
Ann Arbor, Michigan 37th Annual Bicycle show,
Sunday, April 30 to spread the word
about the MCACN show. If you are interested in bicycles, no matter what
type, you need to attend this awesome event. This is the largest bicycle
show and swap in the world with literally thousands of bikes and row
after row of bicycle vendors. For full information,

Hope to see you there!
The Muscle Car and
Corvette Nationals is the world’s largest all indoor specialty show
devoted to Muscle Cars, Dealer-built Supercars and the finest and
rarest Corvettes. Bone Stock magazine called us “The greatest muscle
car show on the planet” in their Spring 2017 issue. (Thanks Bone
Stock!) We will again fill nearly 400,000 square feet of exhibit space
at the beautiful Donald E. Stephens Convention Center in Rosemont,
(suburban Chicago), Illinois, just minutes from Chicago’s O’Hare
Airport. To submit your application for your car,
click here. If you are an automotive
related (only) vendor and would like to join us to showcase your goods
and/or services,

Hope to see you soon!
