Johnny Lightning To Celebrate 50th Anniversary with MCACN

Sometimes there are things in the works at the Muscle Car and Corvette Nationals that we need to wait to announce. Since the show is always a "work in progress" and we are committed to making sure we have new and exciting things going on every year, I can assure you there are always cars, people and even related events that provide additional reasons for you and your family to join us in Rosemont, (suburban Chicago) Illinois the weekend before Thanksgiving.

As most of you know, several years ago we teamed up with the Round2 folks, who produce a wide variety of miniature Die Cast and plastic replicas. Their lineup includes model kits by AMT, Lindberg and MPC, truly outstanding and exceptionally accurate 1/18th scale die-cast replicas in their Limited Edition Auto World series and of course, the cool Auto World and Johnny Lightning 1/64th cars.

Over the past several years we have worked directly with the Auto World folks to create 1/18th scale replicas of actual cars, direct from the MCACN show floor. The first, Terry Davis' gorgeous Slate '66 Chevelle SS, was a huge hit and we haven't slowed down a bit since. We now have close to 20 different cars that have been released, and another 6 are in progress for release over the upcoming months. The best part is that these are actual cars from our show, not just color changes. The box art talks about the show, has pictures, and even has a brief summary of the owner and some history of the car. As I often say, earning awards is great, but getting national attention with magazine features and especially having your car replicated is something that really lasts, and is a whole lot of fun to share with your friends and relatives!

So in addition to the "big" 1/18th scale cars, last year we worked with Round 2 to produce our first "little" replicas, which are a pair of Johnny Lightning Superbirds; Mike Hill's awesome "Barn Find" Hemi, in all of its Day 2 Glory, along with a factory stock B5 Blue Superbird. I am pleased to say we have a limited amount of these cars available for you! Click here to purchase yours now for just $14.99 (USA) + shipping to addresses in the USA.

Shortly after, our first set of six cars in the Johnny Lightning Muscle Car series was released to the mass market. This first release, which includes Ray Dupois' '67 GTX convertible, Bruce Arenson's Boss 429, 'Mike Jackson's '72 LT1 Corvette, Mike Mancini's '67 GTO, one of Tommy Lembecks '71 Hemi 'cuda convertibles and Phil Silva's '67 Z/28, was an instant hit and sold out immediately.

With the success of these, we decided to do our very first 10th Anniversary MCACN Exclusive Event car, Charles Lingenfelter's gorgeous 1968 Ram Rod W31 Cutlass. This black over red beauty has the MCACN 10th Anniversary logo on the decklid and a mere 768 were produced. We sold quite a few at the show, but again I am happy to announce we have a limited amount available for you. These are just 9.99 + shipping each, and with just 768 produced, you know it is a true collectible, and once they're gone, they are GONE! To get yours now, click here;

Now all of this leads up to some forthcoming BIG news. As I said at the start of this, there are always a few things in the works that we have to wait to share. That is the case here, as some final details are being hammered out, but here are a few hints. 1969 marked the launch of the Johnny Lightning brand. That means that 2019 is the 50th Anniversary of Johnny Lightning. Stay tuned, as we have something very special in the works to help the Auto World people celebrate this notable milestone, and there will be a lot more happening. Let's just say you may want to keep a few hours open Saturday night!
