________________________________________Thrilled to See Carlisle Events Firing Up the Season!
If you are anything like me, you have had just about enough. Yes, I'm all about safety and maintaining social distance, but let us out! I truly believe that a majority of us are responsible enough to make whatever necessary adjustments are needed to stay as safe as possible..and still live our lives.
Enough said on that!
Enough said on that!
I am absolutely thrilled to see our friends from Carlisle Events are geared up and ready to kick off their season of great events THIS COMING WEEK with the rescheduled Spring Carlisle event. This is one of their largest of the season, and usually the one that kicks off the car season for many of us in April. This year it was necessary to reschedule the event to June 17-20, and alas...that is this week! To quote the Carlisle team; Though health experts have begun to share a more positive outlook on the outbreak, out of an abundance of caution and continued reviews of federal, state and local mandates, we're invoking the planned June back-up dates for Spring Carlisle 2020. The NEW dates for Spring Carlisle are June 17-20 at the Carlisle Fairgrounds.
This means we can safely ascend on the many acres of the Carlisle Fairgrounds to see row after row of automotive treasures. If you dove into that long overdue project and need some parts, this is the place to be. If you just have "cabin fever" and need to get out and celebrate our awesome hobby, this is the place! And this is just the beginning. Next up is the Chevy Nationals June 26-27, then the huge Chryslers at Carlisle Event, where I always find some prime Mopars to invite to MCACN. The Chrysler event will take place July 10-12. For the Ford and Mercury aficionado, you have to hit the Ford Nationals July 31-August 2, and then of course the "must do" Corvettes at Carlisle August 25-27. They have several other great events in July and August, so check out www.carlisleevents.com for the full schedule.

BLOOMINGTON GOLD INDY; And speaking of Corvettes, we are pleased to see that Guy Larsen has lined up a new home in Indianapolis for the big Bloomington Gold Corvette (and Camaro!) Event. This is an absolute must do for us, and this year we will head to the huge Lucas Oil Stadium. A new twist is that much of the event will be under roof, so that means no matter what the weather is doing, all will be dry and comfortable! For full information, go to www.bloomingtongold.com.

Mecum Auctions Eddie Vannoy Collection; Hopefully you caught the TV show I had the honor of participating in that tells about the incredible Eddie Vannoy Collection. In addition to more than 80 prime cars, Mr. Vannoy also assembled what is without a doubt one of the finest (and largest) collections of Automotive Road Art ever seen. Eddie is offering the entire collection right from the building he built specifically to house it, in North Carolina. Let me just say that viewing it online is one thing, but seeing it in person is absolutely mind-blowing. It's not just the quantity, it's the diversity and the quality! Everything from bicycles to pin-ball machines to Nascar memorabilia to porcelain and neon signs to pedal cars to diners and soda machines and vintage firearms to...well, you get the idea! I have seen a lot of prime collections, but this one is for the record books. You can see over 5,000 individual items along with the cars, motorcycles and so much more by clicking here; The auction will take place June 26-30, and of course, you can also bid online. Believe me, if you are a collector of any type of Road Art, you need to check this out! www.mecum.com for the inside scoop.
We also suggest you put Dana Mecums Spring Classic in Indy on your "gotta go" list which will be July 10-18, the Mopar Nationals, August 8-10, the Pure Stock Muscle Car Drag Races September 18-19 and the many cool events that will be taking place at the Gilmore Museum kicking of with their Corvette event July 19. And speaking of the Gilmore Museum, they are NOW OPEN, so you can plan a trip out there today!
We hope you will not get caught up in the "all the events are cancelled" mentality, because it simply is not true. Yes, many have been cancelled, but there are plenty that have simply been rescheduled and many that are proceeding as planned, like us! Get out there, support the events, the vendors and the sponsors. It is up to us to make our awesome hobby continue to thrive and I for one, am not going to allow the "new normal" to ruin my summer.
It is FULL SPEED AHEAD for the Muscle Car and Corvette Nationals show, which will take place November 21-22. The show will host over 500 cars from across the country and Canada along with the finest automotive only vendors and suppliers. We are now accepting applications for cars and automotive only vendors. Our FIVE Official Host Hotels are geared up and ready, with great rates and special perks for our spectators and participants, so book your rooms now.
THANKS AND BE SAFE AND RESPECTFUL TO OTHERS.
WE HOPE TO SEE YOU AT ONE (OR ALL!) OF THESE GREAT EVENTS.
