Muscle Bicycles at MCACN and Why We Host Them
We often say that the primary focus of the Muscle Car and Corvette Nationals show is and always will be prime examples of 60's and 70's American Muscle and the finest and rarest Corvettes. Of course, that doesn't mean that's all you will see at MCACN! Keeping things diverse, fun and interesting without deviating too much is always our goal.
One of the neatest and most fun features is our "Show within the Show" that spotlights Muscle Bicycles. You know; Schwinn Sting-Rays and Krates, Ross Barracuda's and Apollo's, Sears Screamers and Spyders, Raleigh Choppers and, well...you get the idea. For many of us, (myself included) these two-wheeled treasures represent an era of fun and freedom. Remember your first 2-wheeler? I sure do! And I also remember that cool ad in my Boys Life magazine introducing the wild dragster inspired Schwinn Orange Krate. And that was just the beginning.

Our Muscle Bicycle display, Sponsored by Koolestuff is all about having fun and sharing and reliving memories. There is no judging or competition, as it is all about fun. For car owner/participants, there is no fee to show off your vintage Muscle Bikes, and if you aren't joining us with a car, the entry fee is just $25.00. We encourage you to bring any brand, and the real treasures are the unrestored originals. Now those stir up the memories!

MEMORY LANE CLASSICS SWAP MEET: Speaking of Bicycles, here in the Michigan/Ohio area this is kind of like "Bike Week" but for the non motorized versions. Kicking off Wednesday with the 3-day swap meet out in Bowling Green, Ohio. Put on by the Memory Lane folks, this is always the kick off to the season. Buyers and sellers come and go all three days and I always find some treasures.

ANN ARBOR, NOW MONROE BICYCLE SHOW AND SWAP: Now this is the BIG one! Celebrating their 40th Anniversary, this one is kind of like the Carlisle or Hershey of Bicycle shows. Moving to the expansive Monroe County Fairgrounds in Monroe, Michigan, it hosts literally 1,000's of bikes and hundreds of dealers from across the country. An absolute MUST DO for anyone into old bikes of any kind. Paul and Anne Kleppert started this show forty years ago and their team does an outstanding job. Along with the swap, there is a bicycle show, a bike corral and a whole lot more. Here is what they say:
"We promote this show as a great event for the entire family. The bicycle displays will surely bring back many interesting memories to all the grown-ups whether it’s their first bike, their paper route bike, or even the bike that got stolen.
