The Serial #1 Chrysler 300, Daytona Record Holder

When it comes to our beloved Muscle Cars, there are many ways to define significance. In the case of the Chrysler 300, many consider this the "first" Muscle Car. Of course, this can cause heated debates, as we could reach back to the 20's and cite the Buick Century. And then we have the GTO, which was clearly aimed to be an affordable car with a big engine for the masses.

In this case, let's step back to 1955. The powers that be knew that racing sold cars.  Racing on the beach at Daytona also meant widespread attention, and Chrysler figured out a way to garner a whole lot of attention. While the big Chryslers were certainly far from svelte, they did pack a lot of punch under the hood! And so, a team was formed with the ultimate goal to be to not only set, but smash records, thus forever changing the image of a company thought of at the time as somewhat stodgy.

We are truly honored to be able to host the Premier Unveiling of not just an early 300, but the very first, as in Serial #1. This car has some serious history and the stories will be shared at the upcoming Muscle Car and Corvette Nationals show, November 19-20.

So how significant is this car? Well, let me tell you! This is VIN #1, the first ever Chrysler 300 built. The first two were sent directly to Daytona 90 days ahead of production to compete in the 1955 NASCAR Speed Week. There it would win the Women's Speed Trial division with Vicki Wood behind the wheel. Also of note is that the #2 car, driven by Bruster Shaw, took 2nd place in the men's division. #1 was also driven in the main race, but you'll need to join us to hear that story! And that's just the beginning.

This car has just been masterfully restored  to exactly as it was when raced on the beach in Daytona. The amount of research and the hours spent to make sure each and every detail is correct is beyond belief. The current caretaker/owner, Mike McCandless, has pulled out all the stops, and with the entire team at Whitehall Auto Restorations in Massachusetts, led by the White Family, taking on the restoration, you know this one will be over the top. Be sure to join us when the cover is pulled, Saturday morning, November 19. This is one of 23 Premier Unveilings we are hosting this year, which kick off shortly after the show opens Saturday morning at 9:00 am. Please plan on joining us for all of them, and bring your friends and family!

SELL Your Collectible Car at MCACN: Our Car Corral for sale area at the back of the show is the ONLY portion of the show that is not sold out. ALL Car classes are now full and we have sold out of Commercial A and Commercial B spots. The VIP Car For Sale area is also sold out. If you would like to offer your nice Muscle Car, Corvette or other collectible car for sale at our show this year, the fee is just $150.00 with no additional fees or commissions. Now that's a bargain! Please note; these cars move in Saturday morning from 7:00 am - 8:30 am.

Official Host Hotels: While our SIX primary Host Hotels are now sold out, we did ADD TWO MORE. We work very hard to accommodate YOU, whether you join us as an all important spectator or as a participant. While these two hotels are not across the street like the others, (they are both about two miles away) they are nice, clean and they are providing shuttle service, great rates and free or $5.00 daily parking. These are especially well suited to anyone coming in who needs to stay over just one night, but of course we'd love to have you stay for both days! The rate at the Comfort Inn O'Hare is $115.00 per night and the Sonesta is offering a rate of $125.00 per night. To book your rooms now, use our direct and official booking link; www.mcacn.com/hotels. WE DO NOT HAVE ANY "HIDDEN" OR "EXTRA" ROOMS AT THE INITIAL SIX HOTELS! WE HAVE WELL OVER 2,000 ROOM NIGHTS BOOKED AT THESE HOTELS, so remember next year to BOOK EARLY! No doubt that MCACN is taking over the entire Rosemont (SUBURBAN Chicago) community!

ADULT ADMISSION TICKETS AND PRE-SALES: Adult Pre-sale discount tickets are available NOW at our various Chicago area outlets and also through several of our MCACN Ambassadors. These outlet tickets offer the fastest entry since they don't need to be scanned and you don't have to  wait in a box office line. See the list of area outlets here. We DO NOT mail any Pre-Sale tickets as we are far too busy and as most of you know, we have limited staff. ONLINE Pre-Sale tickets are available NOW right here.  These expedite your entry too as we have implemented a brand new streamlined ticket scanning service! And don't forget, Kids 12 and Under ALWAYS get in FREE with an adult, so bring the whole family. Of course, tickets will also be available for sale at the Box Office in the lobby during show hours.

And now we need YOUR help. The Muscle Car and Corvette Nationals show is dependent upon having paid spectators. When the doors open Saturday morning, we count on ticket sales to be viable. Please help us spread the word, invite your friends, bring the family and ask everyone and anyone who may be interested to join us. We have an absolutely incredible show for you and your family and we are very proud of our team and what has come together. THANKS TO ALL WHO ARE JOINING US!

The show will take place Saturday, November 19, from 9 am - 8 pm
and Sunday, November 20, from 9 am - 5 pm.

PLEASE PLAN ON JOINING US!
