MCACN VINTAGE CERTIFICATION PROGRAM PROMOTES PRESERVATION
The Muscle Car and Corvette Nationals show has quite a few special featured area’s each year that could be considered individual shows themselves. We often call our Muscle Bicycle feature, Sponsored by Koolestuff,  a “show within a show” and with nearly 60 bikes on display last year, it certainly was! Our “Class of” Anniversary displays have highlighted the best of the best for 40th, 45th and 50th Anniversaries, and of course, our Corvette Central Triple Diamond display and competition always features an incredible lineup of the finest and rarest C1, C2, C3 and C4 Corvettes that join us from across the country and Canada.

Today we would like to talk about a very exclusive area that is unlike anything anyone else is doing. Our Vintage Certification program, Sponsored by Frank Badalson’s American Performance, LLC and led by MCACN Member Steve Shauger, promotes preservation instead of restoration for all makes. Our team of highly accredited judges specialize in specific marques, and they go over every square inch, inside, outside and underneath of the accepted cars. This certification team consists of judges Brett Merryman, Steve Shauger, Chris White, Roger Gibson, Jim Cunningham, Rick Campbell and other specialists based on makes and models accepted. Each core team member possesses over 30 years experience as restorers, collectors, historians and judges in the hobby. Typically we spend three or more hours on each car examining in detail every segment of your car. This includes placing it on a lift for underbody and suspension inspection. The MCACN show is the perfect indoor venue to have your vehicle certified, and if accepted, you will be among a very exclusive group of enthusiasts To be among this elite group, you must first apply by filling out an extensive questionnaire to make sure your car qualifies. This is required because the criteria to be certified is extremely stringent, and to earn a MCACN Vintage Certificate is to show the world that what you have is indeed something very special.

Over the years we have had the distinct honor of hosting some truly incredible examples of unrestored muscle cars and Corvettes from across the nation. This includes several cars with original mileage in the hundreds! The stories of these cars, their owners, and the amount of information that can be learned is something you just can’t get in a book or on television, making this an absolute must see part of our show. Be sure to allow plenty of time.

Each year as our program receives more and more attention and recognition, the limited amount of available spots sell out quicker. For 2015, we have locked in well over half of the spots already with cars like the Sneak Peek 1966 Shelby GT350 Hertz pictured at the top, a 4,000 mile 1970 LS6 Chevelle SS, a Hemi Super Bee and a Boss 429 Mustang to name a few. We want to make sure this is a learning experience for everyone involved, and by limiting the amount of cars inspected and not limiting the amount of time for inspection, we can assure and maintain our credibility.
If you are the owner of an unrestored original example of pure American Muscle and are interested in having your car Vintage Certified by the finest and most knowledgeable team in our hobby, e-mail Steve Shauger at vintagecert@optimum.net with information on your car for consideration. Certification is awarded at various levels, and we encourage those with unrestored cars to participate whether your car is shiny or not!
So there you have it...yet another reason to join us, whether as a participant or a spectator, for the world’s largest all indoor specialty show devoted to Muscle Cars, Dealer-built Supercars and the finest and rarest Corvettes. The show will take place Saturday, November 21, from 9 am – 9 pm, and Sunday, November 22, from 9 am – 5 pm at the beautiful Donald E. Stephens Convention Center in Rosemont, (suburban Chicago), Illinois. Title Sponsor; Mecum Auctions. Presenting Sponsor; Bill Stasek Chevrolet.
Thank you for the continued support and enthusiasm!
