MCACN EXCLUSIVE VINTAGE CERTIFICATION PROGRAM THRIVES

There are many different aspects of the Muscle Car and Corvette Nationals show. We refer to some of them, like the Muscle Bicycles area, as a “show within a show” as they highlight a very specific segment of our hobby. One of the most popular and educational is our Vintage Certification area, Sponsored by Frank Badalsons American Performance, LLC.

The Vintage Certification area focuses on Preservation instead of Restoration. Led by MCACN Member Steve Shauger, a team of highly recognized marque authorities pore over every square inch inside, outside, and underneath of the subject vehicles. The program focuses on unrestored cars and provides status, recognition, provenance and appreciation for these rare vehicles. Our certification team provides each owner with a comprehensive listing of findings in a full detailed report. The ultimate goal is to uncover new information, share it with the participant and act as a repository for factory standards and processes. Each of the cars are inspected on the ground and then on a lift, supplied by the MCACN Official Lift Company, Titan Lifts. If you want to learn about how these cars really were built back in the day, this is the place!

This year we will be expanding the display area for our Vintage Certification program. Moving Vintage Certification to the ballroom, previously used as our awards, seminar and band area, will allow greater access for our spectators. Although the cars are stanchioned, they will be placed in a way that will allow expanded viewing. You will also be able to better see exactly how our team inspects the vehicles, especially when they are up in the air on the Titan Lifts.

In the new issue of Muscle Car Review magazine, you will see an awesome full feature devoted to our Vintage program, and the 2015 participants. Editor Drew Hardin did a great job telling the stories of some of the cars and also shot some great pictures. As you can imagine, each and every one of these cars has amazing history! Check out the online version of the feature. As I always say, show your support for Muscle Car Review magazine by buying this issue, or better yet, subscribing! This is the third full feature in Muscle Car Review on the 2015 MCACN show this year, so if you were a participant, you may just find your own car in the coverage. Check out our media section on our website to see these features, along with over 100 other national features.
