Enthusiasm Is At An All Time High For The Cars We Love!

Each January, all of us who live and breathe cars look forward to the January auctions. Perhaps it is the post holiday hangover or maybe the thought that we have survived the insanity and within a few months, those of us who live in regions with less than desirable weather will have the chance to step outside for reasons other than to shovel snow. Brrrrrr...

Our Muscle Car and Corvette Nationals Official Title Sponsor, Mecum Auctions really knocked it out of the park. Hosting the largest of the January auctions, over 3,000 lots were presented in Kissimmee, Florida. Those who were at the MCACN show in November were treated to some of the many Mecum feature cars that were offered, including several of the most significant drag cars ever to cross the block, along with Premium Muscle that we all dream of. Yes...records were set, but if you just wanted to dive in and buy a great car to cruise in, there was no problem finding something that fit the bill. When all was said and done, nearly $100 million changed hands and over 2,200 cars were hammered sold. Whew...those are some incredible numbers! Yes, enthusiasm is at an all time high for our hobby. So is it a new administration bringing positive thoughts? Are people feeling comfortable with the increases in their 401k’s? Well if you have the answer, let me know! The bottom line for me is that this all adds up to increased interest in our hobby, the cars we love and the passion. Yes, I truly believe that although many may be in this for hopes of financial gain, I see more and more people enjoying the hobby because they truly want to have some fun. And that is what we’re all about.

Out west, the many Arizona auctions also saw plenty of fun and enthusiasm. I again witnessed records being set, more “regular guys” buying great affordable cars and a whole lot of people simply enjoying the cars and the people. For those of you who sold cars, I congratulate you. Hopefully you got everything you hoped for. For those of you who purchased cars, well here’s a big high five! Let’s hear what you took home and more importantly, let’s hear what you will be showing with us this year at MCACN.

2018 is going to be a great year, and we are geared up and ready to present our Tenth Anniversary Edition of the Muscle Car and Corvette Nationals show, November 17-18.

We are finalizing plans for some really exciting Invitational and Special displays. We have an all new website that we are dialing in right now that will be launched real soon. Yes...2018 will be another for the record books and we certainly hope you’ll come along for the ride.

And best of all, they are all within walking distance, meaning once you arrive, there is no need to drive anywhere. And with the adjoining Rosemont Entertainment District and 130+ store outlet mall, there is plenty for the whole family to do and see, even if they don’t want to spend two days checking out the cars. Yes...MCACN really is geared up and ready for your family even if they aren’t car people!

We make it easy!

Accepting Car Applications Now; We are now accepting applications for cars by clicking here. Please understand that submitting an entry does not guarantee acceptance, as we are committed to presenting a balanced show of the highest quality. Cars that have been previously shown with us will be held until 10-15 and then reviewed, if we have openings to assure a fresh show for our spectators. If you would like to pre-qualify your car, send pictures and information to bashton426@gmail.com. Our emphasis is always on prime 60’s and 70’s American Muscle and the finest and rarest Corvettes, especially those that are rarely if ever shown. Interesting special interest cars of all vintage are always considered. We like to keep the show interesting!

Vendor Applications Now Being Accepted; Same spaces are held for our previous vendors until 2-15. All vendors must be automotive related. If you are a headset hawker, sell home improvements or other non car stuff, please don’t ask. After 2-15, spaces are assigned on a first paid basis, meaning those who pay first get the best remaining spots. Vendor pricing will increase sometime after 2-15.

To lock in your vendor spaces now, click here.

As I look at the falling snow outside, I know that the countdown is on. The national magazine features are hitting the mailboxes and news-stands now and the excitement is already starting to build. Please plan now to join us when we return to the Donald E. Stephens Convention Center in Rosemont, (suburban Chicago), Illinois. The show will take place Saturday, November 17, from 9 am – 8 pm, and Sunday, November 18, from 9 am – 5 pm. We have been called “The Center of the Muscle Car Universe” by Muscle Car Review magazine. If you don’t know why, you really need to see for yourself!
