New Special Display for 2021; The HERTZ Collection Invitational

Of course, we are tremendously sad about not being able to host our 2020 event, but it doesn't mean for a second we are slacking off. Fortunately, nearly everyone who committed to join us has "rolled over" their entry or locked in their commercial space, so we are OVER 2/3 full for 2021 already! THANK YOU to all who continue to support what we do. Sure, it's been a tough and very frustrating year for all of us, but alas...better days are coming.

So talking about continued support, allow me to introduce our newest Invitational display. I often say it's the cars that get us together, but it's the people that make our show so awesome. A guy by the name of Steve McDonald "gets it" in so many ways. First, he is really passionate about sharing his enthusiasm for the hobby. As the owner of a 1966 Shelby GT 350H shown above, he has driven it well over 100,000 miles, driving across the country several times and going to events all over. Yes...he DRIVES it to the events! Sure, it has a bump or bruise, but I can assure you, you'd be proud to have it in your own garage. Steve showed with us in our Long Term and Original Owners Invitational a few years ago. We have been talking about Hertz cars for the past few years, so he stepped up offering to coordinate a very special display for us this year. Of course, the first goal is to gather ALL of the different colors of the 1966 GT350H, as they made them in a variety of colors other than the signature black and gold we all recognize. He is well on his way to having them all but is looking for a few others, so if you own a NON Black GT350H, we would love to have you join us. But that is just one aspect of this display. Over the years, HERTZ offered some other very interesting specialty cars for rental use. You may remember the awesome '68 Cougar that our friends from Garner Restorations unveiled last year. YEP...that was a HERTZ Rental car! They also offered other special Shelby's and even some decked out ready for skiing Corvettes back in '63. The list goes on, so if you own a real HERTZ Rental specialty car, please consider joining us. And yes, recently HERTZ offered special Shelby Mustangs and Corvettes for a special rental fleet at select airports.

But there's more! Steve will also be bringing in some great related memorabilia. This includes advertising material, die cast cars and even some original HERTZ exclusive parts. This display is going to be FUN! Special Thanks go out to Steve for stepping up to coordinate this very special display. We know this is going to be a hot-spot and lots of fun.
