MCACN Car Show Guide Magazine; 88 Pages of FUN and Excitement!

It's that time of year again, when we dive into production of our annual Muscle Car and Corvette Nationals 88 page full color magazine. This is quite an undertaking, as we always have so much going on. The biggest challenge is choosing what goes into it. Bottom line is, we have so many great cars, so many cool people and so much happening that we simply can't cover it all. So how do we decide what ends up in the magazine?

Well, first and foremost is the general information for not only our participants, but for our all important spectators. As I often say, without spectators we have no show! So this serves as a tool to convince you to join us, whether showing something or coming to see what we have on the show floor. Includes hours, directions, features, celebrities, kids stuff and of course, a sampling of the cars, trucks and Muscle Bikes that you'll see at the show.

Speaking of challenges, the biggest challenge we are faced with is having nice, high quality pictures. It always amazes me that so many people that join us have great cars, but no good pictures. So here's the "Top Three" most important tips; first, let's close all the body panels. Second, shoot with the sun behind you. Third, do not "chop off" any part of the car. If your pics break these three important rules, it isn't likely to be in the magazine. Also, if there are any people in the picture, let's make sure they are gorgeous and please; no Radial T/A'S!

ONLY use pictures of actual entrants, meaning if you aren't officially registered there is no chance I'm including you. Of course, occasionally we will use a car that has been shown with us in the past, but this publication is about the new show, so emphasis will be given to the cars, people and features of the 2023 event. We are tracking way ahead for entries this year in nearly every category, and several classes and special displays are already full. If you are planning on joining us, you can "Pre-Qualify" by sending pictures and information to bashton426@gmail.com. We have more Invitational and Special displays than ever, but if your car doesn't fit into one of them, that is fine as we always have a wide variety of additional cars throughout the show. This especially applies to the unusual and unexpected cars, which we have more of than ever! (and we LOVE this!).

Our magazine is FREE to those who are on our mailing list. If you are on our list, you are all set. If you aren't, or are not sure, sign up here: We also have the entire 2022 magazine online and accessible 24/7 here, and of course, we will post the new 2023 magazine in mid October. Scheduled mailing date for the magazine is 10-15, so watch your mailbox!

Looking For: As always, there are a few cars on my "Hit List" that we'd like to include in some of our special displays. Looking for the "best of the best" and emphasis is given to cars that are rarely, (or never!) shown. If you own one of these or have something that you think would be a cool addition to the MCACN show, please send pictures and information to bashton426@gmail.com. So, we are specifically looking for '58 and '59 performance oriented Impalas, 1973 Challengers and 'cuda's, Malaise Era G.M. Collonade cars, 1968 GTO's, Firebirds, Camaro's and how about a Beaumont? Let's hear about what you have, especially if it is fresh or recently discovered.

Carlisle Chrysler Nationals: Congrats go out to the Carlisle Events team for hosting a fantastic event this past week. They set another record with over 3,100 cars in attendance and as always, I found some really neat cars there that will be joining us at the MCACN show. Event Manager Ed Buczeskie does an outstanding job, (as does the entire Carlisle Events team) and next up is their huge Corvettes at Carlisle event, August 24-26, which is sure to be another record breaker. For information on all of the Carlisle Events, go to www.carlisleevents.com
