Mecum Invades Indy for Dana Mecums 31st Original Spring Classic
I cover a lot of events spreading the word about the MCACN show. Without a doubt, one of my favorites is Dana Mecums Spring Classic in Indianapolis. With over 2,000 vehicles crossing the block and a majority being prime American Muscle, what’s not to like? Kicking off Tuesday, May 15 and continuing with non stop auction action right up until Sunday, the 20th, if it isn’t here, you aren’t likely to find it anywhere!

Dana Mecum has become the king of collections, and this year at Indy the lineup is amazing. There are currently more than 30 groups of cars from notable collections being offered, with incredible diversity. And if you want Muscle, you are going to find it! I am especially excited to see the prime offerings from MCACN Member Mike Guarises collection. As most of you know, Mike has only the best of the best and several hitting the block are past MCACN award winners. My favorite is the Glacier White 1970 G.S. Stage 1, 4-speed convertible. You may remember this one from our special Stage 1 Convertible Invitational display a few years ago. It is one of just 67 4-Speed Stage 1 convertibles built in ‘70, and as with all of Mikes cars, is fully documented with Sloan Museum paperwork and numerous other docs and history. This car scored 991 at MCACN in 2015, and Mike has the full history dating back to 1970. In addition to this one, he is offering three GTO’s; a ‘65, a ‘66 and a ‘69 Judge, all equally as impressive. To read all about them Click Here.

Our good friend and MCACN Official Sponsor Denny Guest is also offering some great cars. Remember that wild straight axle ‘66 Coronet that was in our lobby last November? That’s one of them! Denny has an even dozen hitting the block, and every one is a winner. To see what Denny is offering, Click Here.

And that is just a sampling of what they have in store for us. Everything from a ‘73 Torino that looks like its from Starsky and Hutch to a very real and fully documented 1967 L/88 Corvette. Of course there are also some motorcycles, some boats and a wide variety of Road Art...truly something for all of us. To view the entire lineup of offerings, go to www.mecum.com and remember, if you aren’t able to attend in person, check out the action on NBCSN and be sure to sign up for the Mecum Infonet for FREE right here; You can watch the entire auction in real time and also get full sales and high bid information.
