 Monterey and Carlisle Corvettes Make for an Awesome Week!
It is true that many of us are already preparing to get the kids back to school, (three of my Grand-daughters already started!) but don’t think for a minute that the summer car activities are even close to being done. Of course, out in Monterey, there are all kinds of activities culminating in the incredible Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance. Yep...that is the one they compare us to as far as MCACN being “The Pebble Beach of Muscle Cars!”


Our Title Sponsor, Mecum Auctions is geared up to present what may be their best Monterey event ever with their Daytime Auction, August 23-25. Of course the lineup of exotics is over the top, with everything from a “fixer-upper” Porsche 959 that has major front end damage after kissing a pole, to several Bugatti Veyrons and my personal favorite, a stunning red Lamborghini Muira. Seriously; where else can you go to choose from a row of Veyrons? And since Mecum is known for Muscle, you can bet that they have some stellar examples set to cross the block. Another one of our fine sponsors, Carlisle Events is geared up and ready for their huge Corvettes at Carlisle event, Thursday August 23 through Sunday, August 26. This is the largest and most fun-filled Corvette event in the world without a doubt. This one features more than 5,000(!) Corvettes representing all generations of America’s classic sports car. (note; YES, they really do have that many Corvettes on the grounds!) In addition to the show field, the many special displays and the humungous swap meet, they also have an autocross, burnout contests and the parade through historic downtown Carlisle. The excitement continues with the manufacturers midway, activities for the kids, a variety a seminars and so much more. These are just two of the great events happening this week. Get out there and enjoy the cars and of course, the awesome people of our hobby. Whether you have a car or just enjoy looking at them and enjoying the stories, our hobby is now operating at fever pitch. Get off the couch, put down the laptop or phone and enjoy some fresh air!

Recent Incredible Muscle Car Finds; The media has been awash with news of several very significant and historical Muscle Car finds. I am thrilled and honored to say that I have been able to be involved with three of them recently, all of which you will see at MCACN this year. Can you say Shelby? And if you are a Chevrolet aficionado, stay tuned as I am going out to see one of the most significant Chevrolet muscle car finds ever this weekend. Cars that have been previously shown with us will be held until October 15, 2018 and then reviewed, if we have openings to assure a fresh show for our spectators. Our emphasis is always on prime 60’s and 70’s American Muscle and the finest and rarest Corvettes, especially those that are rarely if ever shown. Interesting special interest cars of all vintage are always considered. We like to keep the show interesting!
