If you thought the outdoor season was over, think again! This is another great weekend for us car people and we want to tell you about TWO awesome events. Right in the “backyard” of the Muscle Car and Corvette Nationals, we have the huge Morris Lions Club show and swap this weekend. Expanded to two days, they will have the swap and car corral open Saturday and Sunday with the huge car show (along with the swap and car corral) Sunday. This is new this year, as in the past it has been primarily all on Sunday. We have seen close to 1,000 cars show up for this, along with row after row of vendors. We will be set up in the swap area to distribute our brand new MCACN Car Show Guide magazine. I am personally picking up the extra copies from our printer Friday and they will be mailing them out on the 15th, so if you’re on our mailing list, keep an eye out for it in your mail box. If you aren’t on our mailing list, stop by our display in spots 172-173-174, which is pretty much in the center of the grass swap area. This show has a new home, which is the Grundy County Fairgrounds, one mile north of Morris on Route 47. I will also have Advance Sale Adult discount tickets with me, so if you want to save $5.00 for every Adult ticket purchased, c’mon by and see me! You will also be able to sign up for a chance to win FREE tickets in our booth this weekend. This is a must do event, so we hope to see you there.
Bloomington Gold Charlotte, N.C. If I wasn’t going to Morris, there is no doubt that I would be heading south to North Carolina for the Bloomington Gold- Charlotte Corvette event. Held at the awesome Hendricks Motorsports Complex, that alone is worth the trip! They will be featuring the 68-72 “Sharks” with a stellar group of 17 prime examples. Since it looks like we may have the largest contingency to date of Corvette Central Triple Diamond candidates, (like the gorgeous ‘57 shown above) at MCACN this year, it is clear that enthusiasm for Corvettes is at an all time high. Note: We have just a few more openings for Triple Diamond candidates, so if you earn your Bloomington Gold this weekend, (or you already have!) and have achieved NCRS Top Flight certification, we hope you will take the next step to join us to earn your Triple Diamond. Guy Larsen and his team do a truly outstanding job and we are honored to work with them. And of course, Guy and the crew will be joining us at MCACN with a big display.

Exhibitor Update; For those of you who are joining us with a car, a Muscle Bicycle or as a vendor, your extensive multi page move-in pack will be mailed out a few weeks before the show. Please read it all, as 99% of the questions we get are covered! Since we want to give you the most current information regarding move-in and so many other things, we feel this is the best time. You will not receive any admission tickets in the mail, as those are distributed to you when you check in at the building. We have secured several nearby lots for participants truck and trailer parking, and this is included with your car or vendor entry. (no charge). Please note that these lots are not in and out lots,as we want to have the least amount of movement and proper security. Your Trailer Parking Pass must be affixed to your trailer to use this lot.

Sell Your Car at MCACN; We offer two ways to sell your car at MCACN; first, our VIP Car For Sale area is located in the center hall, fully stanchioned with a staff member present during all open show hours, with larger display spaces. We have just a few remaining at $250.00 per car. Must be pre-approved and this is only for Prime high-end cars. We also offer our standard Car Corral spots at the rear of the “big” room at a bargain basement price of just $100.00 per car. These are parked nose to tail and side by side, no stanchioning, parking lot style. These cars must also be nice, no junk or project cars and these cars move in Saturday morning from 7 am – 8:30 am.There are no additional fees if you sell your car, so this is a great way to show your car to plenty of real and qualified buyers. MCACN OFFICIAL HOTELS UPDATE; Yes; the DoubleTree O’Hare and the Embassy Suites O’Hare are already sold out, but not to worry! We have three additional Official Host Hotels, all offering great special rates and extra perks for our spectators and participants. The Crowne Plaza O’Hare is right across the street with rooms available for just $117.00 per night. They recently opened the new Bill Murray Caddyshack theme bar and restaurant, so you know that will be a hot spot! The aLoft is one of the area’s newest and neatest hotels; very high tech and they offer direct door to door shuttle service. Rooms are available for $135.00. On the other side of the convention center is the Hyatt Regency O’Hare. They are offering a rate of $129.00 single or $139.00 double and they have the enclosed overhead pedestrian bridge so you can stay inside all weekend.
