First Round of MCACN 2019 Invitational Displays Announced

With the 2018 holiday season now behind us, all eyes turn to the Auction scene in January. Of course, there are great auctions happening all year long, especially for our Title Sponsor Mecum Auctions, but you'd have to be living under a rock to not be drawn into all the action that happens this month! Jumping right in with over 3,000(!) cars crossing the block in Kissimmee, Florida, not to mention some boats, motorcycles, motor homes and incredible Road Art, the worlds largest collector car auction is geared up to set records. If you are able to attend, whether buying, selling or just to catch some of the action, you will have a blast. If you cant make it in person, join the Mecum Infonet for FREE to get live action each and every day in real time. Of course, there is also a considerable amount of coverage on TV, so be sure to check that out too. To sign up for the Mecum Infonet, click here; In addition to all the action, you'll also be able to access past sales from all of their auctions. That alone is an incredible source for research.

Once the Mecum crew wraps things up, all eyes shift west. There are numerous auctions happening out there, and each seems to have its own unique personality. All of this means there is an unprecedented amount of enthusiasm for the hobby right now, and I am sure we will see plenty of newcomers joining in on the fun.

MCACN Official Sponsor Garner Unveils the Steven Minore incredible 1970 Olds

Here at MCACN Headquarters, we found it necessary to kick into gear a bit earlier for 2019. You see, we had people ready to commit right at the show in November, especially for the coveted Premier Unveiling spots. We are honored and humbled to be "the place" for enthusiasts and the very best restoration shops to showcase their latest, and if there is any place that will draw attention to your prime Muscle Car or Corvette, it's the Muscle Car and Corvette Nationals!

Following tradition, the 2019 show will take place the weekend before Thanksgiving, which is November 23-24 this year. We have signed contracts with four of our five Official Host Hotels, and the direct booking links will be listed very soon. Remember, if you want to be in the most convenient hotels and deal with the people that understand what we are all about, book at one of them! And as a reminder, we NEVER call you or have anyone else call or contact you on behalf of MCACN. If you get any calls or e-mails, get rid of them. The best way to book your rooms is through the direct links on our website, or call the hotels directly and let them know you are coming to Rosemont for the MCACN show to get the great rates. We negotiate the best rates, get extra perks and also reduced rate parking. Last year we FILLED all five of these hotels, so that means every one of them is pretty much a MCACN party!

2019 Invitational Displays, Round One; As you know, we always keep things fresh by hosting some very special displays. Each year we "mix it up" with most being entirely new, while we have a few that return, like our Barn Finds and Hidden Gems, as they are always a hit. Here is the "first round" of Invitational displays, with more being announced over the next couple months;

Ford and Mercury Total Performance; This year our red carpet special display up front puts the spotlight on the blue oval. The right side will highlight the rarest and best Boss Mustangs, while the left side will showcase Mercury's hottest, with an emphasis on the Cougar Eliminators and CJ and SCJ cars. I am pleased to say we have some absolutely mind-blowing cars already committed, including TWO Premier Unveilings, so stay tuned for details on this. And if you have something that is truly among the best of the best, let me know asap, as more than half of the display is already confirmed.

Ram Air Pontiac GTO Invitational, Hosted by Jim Mattison; This one has been on the table for well over a year now. We will chronicle the history of Pontiacs hottest round port GTO's from 1967-1970. With Jim at the helm, you know you are going to see only the finest examples! (Spoiler Alert; for 2020, Jim will return to host a Ram Air Firebird Invitational display. You saw it here first!

Chevelle Post Sedan Invitational, Hosted by Dan Vasic; This is another that has been in the works for over a year. You saw what Dan put together in 2018 with the incredible Ram Rod and W31 Invitational. This year Dan puts his attention on the the cars that may be his all time favorites; the Post Body Chevelles. These cars are rare for many reasons, and Dan has this group of an even dozen cars almost filled already. Yes...he takes this seriously and works hard to assemble not only a great group of cars, but a great group of owners!

A12 Super Bee and Roadrunner Reunion; This is another that has been in the works for quite some time. In fact, since 1969 is the Anniversary year for the 6-pack and 6-barrel beasts, we decided to make it happen in 2019! Of course our friends at Carlisle Events host an annual gathering in July at the Chrysler Nationals, so this year we are offering another stop for these factory hot rods. In fact, there will be four different gatherings of the A12 cars this year, with MCACN being the final stop! Last year we filled an entire room with Original and Long Term Owners. Can we do it again with the A12's? If you own one of these cars and want to join us, please e-mail me at bashton426@gmail.com asap. Cars can be original or restored, shiny or not.

Official MCACN Sponsor Koolestuff

This is just the beginning of what we have in store for you for our Eleventh year. Of course, our regular features, including our exclusive Vintage Certification program, Sponsored by American Performance, LLC, the Corvette Central Triple Diamond display and competition, our Pinnacle Certification for prime Shelby's and Mustangs sponsored by Titan Lifts, the fun Barn Finds and Hidden Gems and the hot Muscle Bike "Show within the Show" Sponsored by Koolestuff return, each with an entirely new group of entrants.

We are committed to keeping our show fresh and new for our spectators, so if you have been in the show previously, your entry may be held until 30 days before the show to see if we have available openings. If there is one thing I have learned over the years, it is that in order to keep the all important spectators coming back, we need to present a new show every year, and I think we have done exactly that for the past ten years. We have been very fortunate to be able to do this, as many other shows continue to host the same-same year after year, which is fine, but not for us.

As always, we welcome your suggestions and feedback. We are excited to kick off our second decade of Muscle Car and Corvette Mania. We truly appreciate the continued support and participation, whether you are a participant or a spectator. And as always, we ask that you help us spread the word, because as you know, there is nothing quite like actually being at the show.

With Sincere Appreciation and wishes for a Great New Year for you, your family and friends.
