January is coming on strong for our hobby, with our Title Sponsor Mecum Auctions leading the way with an absolutely incredible auction out in Kissimmee. I don't know what the final numbers are, but suffice it to say there are a whole lot of happy buyers and sellers! I saw quite a few cars that we have had the honor of hosting, and lots of MCACN participants partaking in the fun. Congrats go out to Dana Mecum and his team for yet another record setting auction. And now...all eyes shift west!
For us, the work never stops. Of course, networking is the key to our continued success and meeting with past and future participants and spectators is among my favorite things to do. There will be plenty of that over the next few months, all across the country.
So with that being said, I am pleased to announce that we have signed contracts with all five of our Official Host Hotels, and they are ready for you. I know the importance of locking in great rates and getting you some extra perks and preferred parking rates, so that is exactly what we have done.
DoubleTree O'Hare; The hands-down favorite and "party central" for our participants since our inception. Right across the street, they are offering a rate of just $139 single or double. Of course, they'll host the annual MCACN kick off party for guests on Friday night and reduced rate parking remains at $15 daily at the attached Embassy Suites garage. Embassy Suites O'Hare; This has become a favorite for many of our participants and spectators. They have larger rooms, an awesome cooked-to-order breakfast, (love the omelettes!) and the fun daily Managers Reception with free cocktails and more. The aLoft; Among the newest hotels in the Rosemont area, it is without a doubt one of the coolest! Located right across the street from the huge Outlet Mall and beside the Rosemont Entertainment District, they offer direct door to door shuttle service. Actually, you can easily walk to the convention center as it is just a few blocks away. Affordable rooms for MCACN participants offered at $129. The Crowne Plaza O'Hare; This one is really working to earn your business with the lowest rate at just $119 per night! Parking here is $15 daily and they are also right across the street. And did I mention the awesome Bill Murray's Caddy Shack theme bar and restaurant? Great place and without a doubt, another MCACN "party central" theme every year. Hyatt Regency O'Hare; So say you don't want to deal with the potentially cold weather. Well then, the Hyatt is your place! They have an overhead enclosed walkway that will take you right to the convention center lobby! No...it really isn't too early to think about the 11th Annual Muscle Car and Corvette Nationals show. It may seem like November 23-24 is a long way off, but it will sneak up on you. Remember...it has already been over two months since we took over the Donald E. Stephens Convention Center in Rosemont, (suburban Chicago), Illinois!
We are now accepting applications for cars and automotive only vendors and have just a few more remaining openings for Official Unveilings. We will be announcing more Invitational and Special displays in February and Same-space vendor applications will also be mailed out.
Plan now on being a part of what Muscle Car Review magazine calls "A knock your socks-off collection of ultrarare or desirable muscle that drops jaws and shakes heads" in the latest issue!
