Now that the 11th Annual MCACN show and 2019 holiday season is behind us, it's time to get back into what we love the most; good old American Muscle! Out in Kissimmee Florida, our Title Sponsor Mecum Auctions is already selling cars at a record pace. With over 3,000 offerings, they have the bases covered! Of course, the Bullitt Mustang is the star of the show. We had the honor of having this car at MCACN, along with Dana and Frank Mecum and Sean Kiernan, the owner/caretaker of the Bullitt. This car will sell Friday with NO RESERVE, so you now have the chance to be the next caretaker. And no matter what make, model or style you like, Mecum has it. And remember, if you cant make it to the auction, you can catch all of the auction action in real-time with their FREE Mecum Infonet system. This is an absolute must to stay in the loop, so sign up now and be on top of things any day, any time. And we'll have some Bullitt fun this week too, which I'll tell you about at the end of this E-blast.
Our job never ends at MCACN headquarters, and 2020 is already shaping up to be another record year. I mean, with the 50th Anniversary celebrations we had last year featuring the 1969 model year being such a hit, we all know what is going to happen when we start commemorating 1970, the year that many Muscle Car enthusiasts consider the best. Think about it; we had Buick GSX's, Hemi 'cuda's and Challengers, LS6 Chevelles, all new Camaro's and Firebirds and Boss 429's. Stage 1 Buick's, Ram Air GTO's and Firebirds and so many more. Can you imagine being a young guy or girl with a bit of cash in hand? Head down to (insert your favorite brand) dealer and drive out with a rip 'snorting Muscle Car that could certainly get you into trouble in a hurry!
With that being said, allow us to introduce our FIRST round of MCACN Special and Invitational displays for 2020. First up is our Class of 1970, which will celebrate the 50th Anniversary of this pinnacle year. Then, we will have several "displays within the display". Olds Ram Rods, Dodge Challengers and Buick G.S's are among them. And speaking of Mopars, we will host a celebration of the AAR 'cuda's and Challenger T/A's, with a goal of hosting one of each available color. And for those of you into race cars, our good friend Geoff Stunkard will host a gathering of REAL Pro-Stockers. This group will have various makes and years, but suffice it to say, they will All be real-deal cars. We will also have some very special guests joining us for this one.
Speaking of friends and long time supporters of what we do, Jim Mattison will return to host another stellar gathering of rare and real Ram Air Pontiacs. This year the Firebirds will steal the spotlight. If you saw the Ram Air GTO display Jim hosted last year, you know he invites only the absolute best, so be prepared to see another outstanding gathering of Pontiac's hottest performers. Dr. Ajesh Parikh, who has brought us incredible displays of Buicks the past two years, will focus on the 1970 model year with an emphasis on the Stage 1's, both hardtop and convertible. Again, if you saw the displays Ajesh assembled in '18 and '19, you know how hard he works to bring the best to our show!
Of course this is just the beginning and we have quite a bit more in the works. Returning features are our Barn Finds & Hidden Gems, Hosted by Ryan Brutt, and sponsored by Miller Auto Care, Stock Restorations and Restomods, our Vintage Certification program, Sponsored by American Performance, LLC with the emphasis on Preservation instead of Restoration, our Corvette Central Triple Diamond display and competition and of course, our Shelby and Mustang Pinnacle certification, Hosted by Bob Perkins. Muscle Bikes return along with our fun Mini Bike display, both Sponsored by Koolestuff, and look for a much improved Kids Zone, with help from our good friends at Auto World.
As always, a whole new group of cars will be Officially Unveiled to kick things off Saturday morning. (more on those in the coming months). We have more than half of the Official Unveiling field already lined up, so if you are considering this, let us know asap as this will again sell out well in advance. We are now accepting applications online, and as you know, priority is given to cars that have not been shown in the area previously or with us over the past few years. We all work very hard to present a fresh new show for our spectators!
MCACN OFFICIAL HOST HOTELS UPDATE; We have signed contracts with The DoubleTree O'Hare, the Embassy Suites O'Hare, the Crowne Plaza O'Hare, the aLoft and new this year, the Hilton Rosemont/Chicago O'Hare. Of course the DoubleTree remains "party central" and all five are geared up and ready for us. They know what we are all about and all five have extra perks and great rates for our MCACN spectators and participants alike. We will have direct booking links posted real soon, and remember, we will NEVER call or E-mail you to solicit hotel business. If anyone ever does, delete or hang up!
MECUM AUCTION BULLITT FUN; So with all the Bullitt excitement, let's have some fun. We are now having a Facebook contest, where you have the chance to win a MCACN Prize Package. This consists of some cool MCACN swag, including a T-shirt, a hat, an Official MCACN Event Car and whatever else I can dig up from the MCACN prize closet! Guess the final hammer/bid price of the Bullitt, and we will award prize packages to the Top THREE that are closest to the final winning BID. Go to our facebook page to submit your guess, and remember, if you haven't already, "like" our page and feel free to share it! I add something to our facebook page nearly every day, so if you want to know what we are up to, what cars are joining us and other information, please follow us by clicking here;
Next Up; The "RED CARPET" Invitational Display Focuses on Top Dawg G.M. Muscle for 1970. Think LS6, Stage 1, Ram Air IV and W30. Convertibles on the right, hardtops on the left!
