Muscle Cars at the Strip in Las Vegas This Week!
Over the years, a lot of events have come and gone. Sometimes a "promoter" sees another event and thinks that putting on a car show is easy. Well, as someone with a bit of experience I feel qualified to say that isn't the case! Out in Las Vegas, our friends Phil and his lovely wife Jill have been producing an event that has all kinds of activity. Much more than just a car show, what started as Mopars at the Strip has grown into a multi-make event with all kinds of stuff going on, and now dubbed Muscle Cars at the Strip. Of course, the car show continues to be the main draw, but non-stop drag racing is also a big feature, and covers all the bases. This includes All Pontiac, Pro, NSS/AFX, Hemi Super Stock SS/AH, Quick Eliminator Grudge, Unlimited, Modern Muscle Foot Brake, Hellcat, Pro Mod, Modern Muscle, (1/8th Mile Contest in Red) Small Tire, Big Tire, Super Pro, West Coast N/A, Mopar Vs The World, Exhibition, Officers and Outlaw Grudge, Nostalgia Gassers, Pony Car Wars, Street, Stick, and Truck.
Add in an Autocross, the vendors midway, a swap meet, Live Music from Count 77 with Danny Koker of Counts Customs, some awesome feature cars, celebrity appearances, (including Drag Racer Paul Rossi, Mike Cook, aka The Evel Midget from Ride of Your Life and Automotive Archeologist, Ryan Brutt!) and a facility that is absolutely state of the art, and you have the makings of a super fun event.
To add to the fun, the Muscle Car and Corvette Nationals will be extending a special invitation to the winners of the Ultimate Muscle Car competition in all of the Stock Muscle categories to join us at MCACN. Last year, two of the winners joined us. Lew Bisbing showed his beautiful AAR 'cuda, joining us from Arizona in our Mopar Alley section while Steve Cutler joined us in the Wellborn Aero Warriors area with his sweet '69 Daytona, from Wyoming! This year we are expanding the invitations to include an Ultimate General Motors product and an Ultimate Ford/Mercury/Shelby.
