Gearing Up For 32nd Annual Chicagoland Mopar Show and Swap

Over the next few weeks, we will be hitting the road to spread the gospel of the Muscle Car and Corvette Nationals show. November 18-19, and supporting several groups that are HUGE supporters of what we are all about.

This weekend we head out to Belvidere, Illinois for the 32nd Mopar Happening at the Boone County Fairgrounds. Over the years, we have seen over 500 cars at this one, along with a decent sized swap area. Hosted by the Chicagoland Mopar Connection, we are honored to have quite a few of their members on our staff and also on our Judging team. Diane Schmeling is a familiar face in the show office and Roger coordinates our Mopar Alley section along with Judging chores throughout the weekend. Diane also happens to be the key point person for this event.

On Saturday, Modern Muscle takes center stage along with the Midwest Charger meet. Sunday we see the grounds filled with all kinds of prime examples of Mopar machinery, from vintage to modern with everything in between. Cars, trucks, muscle, machines, finned beauties and even some oldies! We always find prime cars to invite to MCACN at this event. And speaking of the MCACN, if you are there and joining us this year, make sure you get a hold of me to take some pictures. I'm working on our new Muscle Car and Corvette Nationals free 84 page magazine now and need good clear shots! This is a great place to capture the beauty of your ride.

We will have some of our past event T-shirts, the cool MCACN tin logo signs, the brand spankin' new mass market MCACN 1/64th scale Johnny Lightning cars and some of the 2021 Challenger T/A and 2022 Superbird Official Event Cars! Come see us in the main building, right in the middle and across from MCACN show sponsor Magnum Auto Restorations.

In Search of the Holy Grail Book; We will also have some of the Limited Edition Wing Car books with us, so if you haven't gotten yours, now's your chance. Summer is the time to jump in and enjoy all that our great hobby has to offer. Remember to share the stories, especially with the younger folks that we see. There is something special about inviting a young person to sit in your car, put their hands on the steering wheel (and perhaps a Pistol Grip shifter!) and take in the sights, smells and sounds. Plant that seed!

Next week we will hit the huge Carlisle Mopar meet, July 14-16 and MCACN Member and Vintage Certification coordinator Steve Shauger will be at the Camaro Nationals in Morgantown, Pennsylvania, July 13-15. Hope to see you out there!
