PRIME Mopars from the Mopars 5150 Crew Joining Us

One thing we know for sure is that the Muscle Car and Corvette Nationals Barn Finds & Hidden Gems section, Sponsored by Miller Auto Care, Stock Restorations and Restomods and Hosted by Ryan Brutt, the Automotive Archeologist, is always a hot spot. You really never know what may turn up in the back corner! I often say, they're still out there and as we travel, that is often confirmed.

For the Mopars 5150 crew, out of California, Texas and Georgia, they are living proof. Over the past several years, founder Troy Bergeron and his family along with a team of car nuts, have been travelling the country buying and selling not only rare Mopars, but a variety of American Muscle Cars. And recently, they landed an unrestored original 28k mile '68 426 Hemi Charger R/T in, of all places, Austria! This, along with a '71 Plum Crazy 440-6 pack Challenger R/T are two of the cars Troy and his crew are bringing to MCACN this year.

So who are these guys? Well, from their website: Mopars5150 started with an idea that was fairly simple, we’re crazy about Mopars and we want to show it! The company’s founder, Troy Bergeron, discovered Instagram one day when he was with his son and decided it was something he should try out, so he joined. He came up with the name “Mopars5150”, because he loved Mopars and in California Police code “5150” is code for a crazy person on the loose. "We have been all across the country, pulling cars out of fields, barns, garages, sheds etc! We have found some of the most prestigious Mopar muscle cars that exist, like Superbirds, Cuda Convertibles, Charger RTs, 426 Hemi cars, 1 of 1 paint cars and many more. We have also brought many cars back from the grave. Our shop in Georgia specializes in heavy metal fab and sheet metal replacement on Mopars. We have rebuilt cars that many would’ve considered scrap or parts cars. And it all leads back to the fact that they are never making any more so we are doing our best to save, rescue, find and resurrect as many as we can."

Over the past few years, in addition to the many Mopars they have brought in they have also shown several Shelby's and they even reunited a Boss 429 to its original engine out in our parking lot. (seriously!) This year, you'll see the repatriated '68 Hemi Charger R/T and the 440-6 Challenger R/T and of course, several others that we'll talk about later. Thanks go out to the Mopars 5150 crew for helping us to keep the Barn Finds & Hidden Gems section so much fun. This Charger is the epitome of a true Hidden Gem, while the Challenger is sure to be resurrected to its original glory. The show this year is really taking off! We are already getting close to being sold out in many categories for Concours judging, our Barn Finds, Vintage Certification and Camaro Legends, and many of our special and Invitational displays are either full or close to full. If you are considering joining us with your prime example of good old American Muscle, please send pics and information asap to bashton426@gmail.com

A few things we would like to add to the mix? Mercury performance cars, some unusual Dodge Vipers, El Caminos and Rancheros with muscle under the hood, perhaps a few Dusters and Demons and if it is a Mopar adorned with FM3 or FJ6 paint, let's hear about it! Of course, all real American Muscle will be considered with an emphasis on cars that are rarely (or never!) shown. We want to hear the stories and have you share them!
