American Muscle and So Much More + The John Kraman Collection

You often hear me talk about how honored we are at the Muscle Car and Corvette Nationals to be able to work with the industries best when it comes to our Official Sponsors. Our Title Sponsor, Mecum Auctions, epitomizes what we are all about and they certainly share our passion for the hobby. And one of my favorite traditions is Dana Mecums Original Spring Classic auction, which kicks off this week, running from May 9-17. We said it before and it is a fact; nobody sells more American Muscle than Mecum; NOBODY! That isn't just an advertising slogan, it is a documented fact. With auctions happening nearly every month, they certainly move a lot of metal...and fiberglass, and boats, and motorcycles and Road Art and more!

Whether you are in the market for a 427 Cobra or a GT40 or maybe something that will be a fun family cruiser, you will find it! Wing Cars, Shelby's, Yenko's, Hemi's and of course, some cool 4-doors and wagons too. There is always an overwhelming amount of vehicles to choose from at the Indianapolis State Fairgrounds at every price point, and I'm sure that more records will be set.

I see some fantastic MCACN certified alumnus in the mix, including several Triple Diamond award winning Corvettes, and some spectacular motorcycles too. And when it comes to collections, the Mecum team has it covered with 40 different collections being offered with everything from prime Yenko's and Nickeys to vintage customs to ultra rare Super Duty Pontiacs to....well, you get the idea!

As you know, we made the announcement that Derek Bieri of Vice Grip Garage and Roadworthy Rescues is joining us at the MCACN show Saturday, November 22, and Sunday, November 23.

Well, Derek is offering SIX cars that you may remember from previous episodes of Vice Grip Garage, Saturday, May 10. This is a perfect opportunity to snag an affordable and fun collector car that has some extra fame! To see what Derek is offering, Click Here.

John Kraman Collection: Speaking of traditions, this really hits home for me. Many of you know that we recently lost John (The Professor) after a brief illness. What you may not know is that in addition to playing a key role in our MCACN success as Host to many of our Premier Unveilings and performing at our show with his band, Redline 7000, John and I had been good friends for many years. Of course, we all know John lived and breathed darn near anything on wheels or that flew and had incredible passion and intense knowledge. You may not know that we both love Indy Car racing. I had the honor of spending quality time with John for the past several years after the Spring Classic, at the Indianapolis 500 track for bump day. The Hulmann Suite was our "home base" and we had a blast, creating a new tradition that we both looked forward too every year. I can't begin to express the void I will feel this year when I enter the track...RIP JK

So with that being said, on Thursday, May 15, The JK Collection will cross the block. John, of course, had exceptionally high standards and you will see five of his cars and six of his motorcycles. From the gorgeous '64 GTO he acquired in 1976 to the 2020 C8 Corvette he loved, each car has a special story. We had the honor of hosting the '72 Corvette, (which is actually Christines!) at the MCACN show, where John and Christine dove in to make sure the car was presented at the highest level. They would go on to earn Bloomington Gold status after MCACN, something John and Christine really loved. And then the motorcycles: John loved riding and these bikes represent that passion. So, if you are in the market for a great car or bike with some real history, be ready to bid, as each and every one is being offered with No Reserve.

Diane Flis-Schneider Rails End Road Art Collection: Speaking of neat stuff crossing the block, one of our key staff members, Diane Fils-Schneider, is offering some really neat pieces of Road Art from her personal collection.

Diane is an integral part of the Celebrity Experience and Spectator Experience at MCACN

I can assure you, Diane has a good eye, and she only collects the finest examples including some great tin and porcelain signs, vintage scales, slot machines, an awesome 1940's jukebox and more. This is "best of the best" stuff so don't miss out on this opportunity. This collection will cross the block Monday, May 12.

As always, the best place to be is at the auction in person. If that isn't possible, you can register to bid online or if you prefer to just watch the auction action, you can see it at Mecum Auctions new home, on ESPN+. For a full schedule of TV times go to https://www.mecum.com/tv/tv-times/ Of course, we will be set up to spread the word about the upcoming MCACN show, so please catch me there! We have so much going on and we'd love to hear about what you are up to.
To get all the information on the auction this week, go to www.mecum.com. You will find a complete list of ALL of the cars, trucks, boats, motorcycles and Road Art, the days they will cross the block, TV schedules and everything else you need, whether you are able to join us or will be watching from your easy chair at home.

Hope to see you in Indy!
