Time For The Carlisle Chrysler Nationals
When it comes to truly outstanding outdoor events, the Carlisle Events team has the bases covered. Whether you are a General Motors, Ford, Mopar, Import, Truck or just a car freak, they have a full schedule of must see events for you. And this week it is time for the huge Chrysler event, one of their largest.
From the Carlisle Events website: Chrysler Nationals is the largest Mopar event in the world featuring nearly 3,000 vehicles from all eras of the Chrysler brand! Classic, muscle cars and high performance new models are all showcased at this Mopar-lover's paradise. Of course, we willl be heading that way to spread the word about the upcoming Muscle Car and Corvette Nationals show, November 21-22.
Features this year include a salute to the Dodge Charger and all 426 Hemi cars, the Duster 340's, 50 years of the Dodge Aspen and Plymouth Volare along with a celebration of the Dodge Adult Toys. 100 years of the Imperial is another feature and there is much more. The Rolling Street Shootout, burnout contests, some awesome seminars and more including appearances from Special Guests Buddy Martin, Joe Zolper, Herb McCandless, Paul Rossi and the lovely Claudia Abel, aka Miss Direct Connection. And that's just a sampling, as they have a HUGE swap meet, a cool midway, a special Ladies Oasis and well...you get the idea! And did I mention the wide variety of food vendors? Everything from the standard burgers and 'dogs to tacos, baked goods and of course, all kinds of ice cream treats.
Carlisle Events does an incredible job and their staff really is outstanding. Clear signage, plenty of maps, announcements you can hear and literally thousands of cars and trucks. I love the layout as if you have specific cars you want to see, it is easy to check out their maps and find where they'll be. And the best part? The people sharing stories and soaking up the sun. Yes...it will be hot and there may even be a shower or two, but that doesn't dampen the spirits of the Mopar loyalists! Bring lots of cold drinks, sunscreen and comfortable shoes.
I'll be there walking the many aisles, as I can't be nailed down to just one spot. I am specifically looking for a few more factory sunroof cars for a very special MCACN display that Dan Pausch is coordinating, Sponsored by The Wellborn Museum. And of course, we can never have too many prime examples of '66 and '71 Mopars, especially if they have plugs in the center of the head.
