PURE STOCK MUSCLE CAR DRAG RACE;
YOU NEED TO CHECK THIS OUT!
One of the coolest and most active area’s at the Muscle Car and Corvette Nationals show is the Pure Stock Muscle Car Drag Race display. For the past several years, Donnie Brass and his crew have assembled a stellar group of cars, each worthy of garnering top show awards, but used exactly as they were originally intended. Smokey burnouts? You bet! Rubber on the quarter panels? Absolutely!
So with that being said, we are pleased to announce that Donnie has again rounded up a “best of the best” group of cars representing the Pure Stock Muscle Car drags for MCACN this year. A whole new group featuring an even dozen cars will be on display, with a great variety of makes and models. Among them is Dave Heilala’s ‘66 442 shown above, Kent Gardners ‘71 Buick G.S., Jim Mahers ‘67 Chevelle SS and Jim Keyes with his ‘67 GTX and ‘67 Coronet R/T. How’s that for a balanced and exciting display!
WE REALLY NEED...Our Special Invitational displays this year are nearly all full with truly outstanding cars that again include some of the rarest and most sought after examples of American Muscle and Corvettes ever gathered under one roof. We do, however, have a few from my “Hit List” that I hope to find. We need two more colors to have all 11 of the standard colors for our Boss 351 Invitational; Medium Gold and Grabber Lime. We also have some available spots for our Factory Sunroof Display, Sponsored by The Wellborn Muscle Car Museum. I would love to add a Duster 340 and a Demon 340, a Chevelle Laguna or 73 Chevelle SS, any HURST cars with a factory sunroof, especially a Hurst SSJ Grand Prix and Hurst/Olds, AMC’s and how about a Studebaker? Of course, any other muscle bound cars that have a factory hole in the roof are also of interest. Dr. Pete Gimenez has a few more spots available for significant Corvettes in the Corvette Legends display, especially 66’s and 71’s, and cars with real race history. We also have a few more openings for our Corvette Central Triple Diamond display and competition, so if you are planning on getting your Bloomington Gold certification in Charlotte, North Carolina, October 14-15, you can still apply to earn the Triple Diamond award and certification this year!
CAR ENTRY; Filling faster than ever, but we do have limited openings. If you own a prime example of American Muscle and would like to join us, please submit your entry now by clicking here. If it is a prime example of tastefully modified Modern Muscle from the years 1972-2016, click here. The last remaining spots will go to the best examples with an emphasis on cars that have not been shown in the Chicago area previously. We are committed to presenting the best of the best for our spectators and keeping our show fresh and new. The Muscle Car and Corvette Nationals is the world’s largest all indoor specialty show devoted to the finest and rarest examples of prime American Muscle and rarest Corvettes. We will host over 550 of the best of the best joining us from across the country and Canada filling nearly 400,000 square feet of exhibit space at the Donald E. Stephens Convention Center in Rosemont, (suburban Chicago), Illinois, just minutes from the Chicago O’Hare Airport. Please plan on joining us Saturday, November 19, from 9 am – 9 pm, and Sunday, November 20, from 9 am – 5 pm.

Kicking off Thursday, September 15 for check in and tech with racing both Friday and Saturday at the Mid Michigan Motorplex in Stanton, Michigan, you are invited to join in for some fun and activity, whether as a participant or as a spectator. Here is what they say about it; The Pure Stock Drags is a heart-pumping, octane-boosting race for stock muscle cars held every September at Mid-Michigan Motorplex. What distinguishes our race is that drivers may make only limited modifications to their cars, ensuring the Detroit muscle remains just like when it rolled off the assembly line. The result is more than one hundred beautiful, high-quality cars—that do more than sit in the garage. Yep...well over 100 of the coolest examples of American Muscle will be on hand slamming gears and mixing it up.

If you saw the PSMCDR displays at our previous shows, you know these cars are prime examples, and the only thing better than seeing them at our show is to see them blasting down the track. This reminds me of “old school” racing, when we were all happy to lend a hand or some tools so that everyone has fun. Since there is no big money or trophies being handed out, it’s all about having a good time with great cars and cool people.
