Last year at the Muscle Car and Corvette Nationals show, we launched our new Mustang & Shelby Pinnacle competition and certification. Led by acknowledged Shelby and Mustang authorities Bob Perkins and Rick Campbell, this new program is for cars that have already achieved both MCA (Mustang Club of America) and SAAC (Shelby American Automobile Club) Gold certification. This is certainly no easy feat, meaning that these cars are the best of the best, and we want to give the dedicated owners of these cars another reason to share their history and show them. In 2016, we certified three prime cars; Rick Campbell’s incredible Grabber Blue Boss 429, an outstanding ‘68 Shelby GT500 shown by Colin Comer and Mike Baumans' show stopping Boss 302. These cars are truly among the finest in the country and it was a real pleasure seeing all three certified as our first Pinnacle Award winners. For 2017, we already have several prime candidates signed up and openings for a few more. Due to the amount of time it takes to properly judge these cars, entry is strictly limited. The cars will go on a lift and be inspected thoroughly inside, outside and underneath and nearly all numbers and date codes checked. If you own one of the finest and have earned MCA and SAAC Gold, please consider joining us.

This week I am heading to the SAAC 42 National meet, which will be held at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway. This is an outstanding place for the event, a true American Icon, and we can't wait to see row after row of Shelby Mustangs, Cobra’s, GT40’s and more. Here is what they say about the event;
 “SAAC has been holding a national convention every summer since 1976. These are not cookie-cutter events that use the same hotel and same race track every year. Each of our conventions is a little different and they rotate around the country. A typical convention, spread over three days and nights, includes a judged concours, a popular vote car show, open track driving, a parts swap, a vintage race, evening programs, a sit-down dinner and panels of guest speakers made up of former Shelby team drivers, engineers, designers, fabricators and race mechanics.”
Now that sounds like a great event!
The event takes place Thursday, June 8 through Saturday, June 10.
