Much More Than Cars; Stars, Guitars and Music Too!

For the past year we have been telling you all about the cars that you will see at the Muscle Car and Corvette Nationals show Saturday, November 18, and Sunday, November 19. Today in our final e-mail before the show, we’d like to present even more reasons to join us.

The Stars; We will never be about wrestlers and strange reality show “celebrities,” but we do have the honor of hosting some real celebrities of our hobby, past and present. We are pleased to have Courtney Hansen joining us again, and what an honor to have NHRA Pro Stock Champion Jason Line unveiling his own 1970 Buick G.S. convertible. Wayne and Danny Jesel are joining us with their own personal cars as discussed on our last E-blast, and we have the cream of the crop when it comes to automotive authors, including Colin Comer, Marty Schorr, Tom Cotter, Randy Leffingwell, David Newhardt, Ryan Brutt, Tom Glatch, Darwin Holmstrom, Mike Yager, Tim Wellborn and Charlie Henry to name a few. From the automotive art world, again we have the best joining us includingMichael IrvineDavid Snyder and our 2017 Featured Artist, Dan McCrary along with five others.

Schellinger Custom Guitars -GIVEAWAY GUITAR 2017!

Guitars; I often use the term “raise the bar” and that is exactly what we are doing with guitars this year, and you will have a chance to win one! Remember when we did the Color My World display and matched cars to some cool G&L guitars? Well this year we are working directly with custom guitar Luthier Eric Schellinger of Schellinger Custom Guitars. To say his guitars are works of art is an understatement, and this year we teamed up with Eric to have him build some very special one-off guitars. Let’s say, perhaps you have a Hemi Orange 69.5 Super Bee or maybe even a ‘71 442 W30 convertible in Viking Blue that is being unveiled at the show this year. How cool would it be to have a matching guitar beside it at the show...and in your car building? Well, Eric has custom built over a dozen one-off guitars that match cars in our show. You can buy one right at the show, or have him build one to your specs. A truly one-off collectible, hand crafted in the U.S.A. And to stir up even more interest. Eric will be giving away one of these guitars in a raffle that is open to all of our spectators and participants. All you need to do is enter at the show. Winner will be announced Sunday afternoon, so be sure to sign up at the show!

LIVE Music; We are honored to be able to present THREE truly outstanding performances by some of the most talented musicians in three very different styles of music this year. Kicking off is Carmel Liburdi, who opened our Awards presentation last year. Joining us from Detroit, Carmel brings her unique blend of original “Punk and Funk” on her acoustic guitar. To learn more about Carmel, check out this review; She will be performing Saturday at 6:00 pm on our Awards/Ballroom stage.

After Carmel’s performance, be sure to catch some real Chicago blues with Marty “Big Dog” Mercer and his band. This award winning blues-master will blow you away! If you enjoy hot guitar and great lyrics, you need to make a point of joining us in the Awards/Ballroom area at 7:00 Saturday night for two sets. Read more about the Big Dog at www.bigdogmercer.com.

But wait...that’s not all! Many of you know John Kramann of our Title Sponsor Mecum Auctions. John does an outstanding job as the on air guy for the Mecum TV coverage. Obviously he is a real car guy, but did you know he also plays guitar? Well, joining us direct from the Las Vegas Mecum Auction, John will jump on a plane Saturday night to join us Sunday with his awesome rock and roll band, Redline 7000! Now that is dedication. John tells us MCACN is his all time favorite show and he will do whatever it takes to be a part of it, so how is that for support of what we do? Redline 7000 will be kicking off our awards presentation at 2:00 Sunday in the Ballroom/Awards area with their High Performance Rock and Roll. Check out http://www.redline7000band.com/ for a preview, and don’t be surprised if there is a special guest appearance by some wanna-be rock star!
