MCACN 2017 Sneak Peek*
Ronald Garabed, II, New Jersey
1966 Corvette 427 Roadster
2017 Triple Diamond Contender
This year our good friends Joe and Vera Pruitt have some big changes in
store for the Corvette Homecoming and Chevy Invitational, which is
happening this week, June 1-3. The biggest change is that it will now take
place at the National Corvette Museum, which is right by the Corvette
Assembly Plant in Bowling Green, Kentucky. Here is a summary from Joe as
to what this show is all about; “As with any brand of car - you buy it,
you take it to a show, you meet old friends and make new friends, and it
turns out to be the people that brings you to most of your destinations.
That is what I believe Homecoming is all about.”
If you have been looking for a reason to check out the Corvette plant,
this will be your last chance for quite a while, as they are gearing up
for big changes shortly after the show, and will be suspending tours. But
the tours are just one part of the activities taking place at this show. A
long list of activities are planned from Thursday-Saturday, including
seminars, a swap meet, activities for the ladies, the manufacturers
midway, a car for sale area, a Bar-B-Q and cruise-in, live music and of
course, row after row of Corvettes and other Chevrolet products. Yep...in
addition to the Corvettes of all years, Joe has expanded the show to
include all Bow Tie vehicles, big and small. If you are looking for a nice
show run by great people, this one is a must do. Great cars, awesome
participants and show staff and all kinds of fun for the whole family;
everything a great car show should be! We also
recommend that you make a point of meeting our good friend Ken
Lingenfelter, who is this years Grand Marshall. He is in good company, as
past Grand Marshalls include Guy Larsen, CEO of Bloomington Gold, and Mid
America Motorworks Chief Cheerleader, Mike Yager! For more

For our Ford fans, this week
Carlisle Events is playing Host to the Carlisle Ford Nationals.
The entire family will enjoy
the most thrilling all-Ford event in the world. Ford, Mercury and Lincoln
fans will have a showcase of over 3,000 vehicles to check out on the
National Parts Depot showfield. During this event, you will enjoy great
indoor displays of concepts, customs and historically-significant cars and
trucks; test drives by Ford Motor Company, a burnout competition,
activities for the kids, industry guests, giveaways, autocross for all
skill levels and club gatherings. The excitement continues with a shopping
experience you won’t soon forget as part of the enormous swap meet, car
corral and the Manufacturers Midway for the best in parts buying.
Jeff Stolowski 442 which
will be freshly restored and unveiled at MCACN 2017
The summer show season is in full swing and our schedule has us traveling
back to Indy twice, first for the
Shelby American
Automobile Club SAAC-42 National Convention June 8-10, then again for
Bloomington Gold, “The Grand-daddy of Corvette Shows", June 22-24. And
speaking of homecomings, we’ll be heading to the
Oldsmobile Homecoming in
Lansing, Michigan, June 17. This is where we watched Jeff Stolowski
purchase and take delivery of more N.O.S. parts for his 1971 W-30 Olds 442
convertible than I have ever seen in one place last year. This car is
being restored right now by MCACN Official Sponsor,
Magnum Restorations,
Inc. Featured last year in our Barn Finds & Hidden Gems
display, and it will be Officially Unveiled Saturday, November 18 at our
show.
And this is just the beginning. We hope you and your family get out there
and enjoy the cars and the awesome people of our hobby. And don’t forget
to tell your friends all about the Muscle Car and Corvette Nationals! We
are the world’s largest all indoor specialty show devoted to Muscle Cars,
Dealer-built Supercars and the rarest and most desirable Corvettes. We
will fill nearly 400,000 square feet of exhibit space at the beautiful
Donald E. Stephens Convention Center in Rosemont, (suburban Chicago),
Illinois, just minutes from the Chicago O’Hare Airport. The show will take
place Saturday, November 18, from 9 am – 9 pm and Sunday, November 19,
from 9 am – 5 pm. We have secured great deals with extra perks at our FIVE
Official Host Hotels, and you can book your rooms now by

Hope to see you at the shows!
