We are truly honored to have
Mecum Auctions
as our Official Title Sponsor for the
Muscle Car and Corvette Nationals. This week we join Dana and his team to
celebrate the 30th Anniversary of the Spring Classic Auction, held at the
Indiana State Fairgrounds in Indianapolis. With over 2,000 lots crossing
the block, there is no doubt that this is yet another must do event for
any Muscle Car and Corvette enthusiast!
There are plenty of great cars being offered, with quality consignments at
all price points. What I want to do today is point out a few of the truly
exceptional cars, which coincidentally, have all been shown at MCACN. When
it comes to truly rare and sought after muscle, there are few that equal
the LS6 Chevelle convertible. If you were at our most recent show, you
hopefully witnessed the Premier Unveiling of the red on red LS6
convertible that joined us from Arizona. This particular car is one of the
highest optioned examples and the documentation is absolutely bullet
proof. Mix in a Gold level MCACN Concours award winning restoration and
you have a recipe for what is truly one of the best of the best, and a
rare opportunity.

Speaking of MCACN Official Unveiling cars that earned Gold Concours Day 2
certification, you will see another notable Chevrolet crossing the block
that was unveiled with us. Last November, Jim Mattison pulled the
cover off of a show stopping black ‘62 Z-11 Impala with notable drag race
history. With just a tick over 300 miles on the odometer and a full
freshening by Scott Tiemann and Dan Jensen, this is one of the finest
examples of a real aluminum front end Z-11 in existence, and it will hit
the block Saturday.

For the Buick fans, MCACN Member Mike Guarise is offering five
prime
examples from his personal collection. My favorite is his Gold
Concours award winning red 1970 G.S. Stage 1, 4-speed convertible that
he
showed in our Class of ‘70 Invitational a few years ago. Once
again, this
1 of just 67 built automobile is truly the best of the best, with
full
documentation including the original window sticker.
And the list of MCACN friends offerings continues with prime cars from Jim
Lynch, including yet another red convertible. This time it is a ‘70
Oldsmobile 442 W-30, and that is one of nine vehicles from The Lynch
Collection. And then we have offerings from Dennis Albaugh, which includes
60, 61, 63 and 66 Impala convertibles and a 64 Duntov award winning
Corvette coupe. And here’s another tip for you; take a close look at The
Virginia Collection. Again, you’ll see some familiar cars that you have
seen at MCACN, and I can assure you, these cars are prime, offered from a
very good friend of ours. And this is just the tip of the iceberg.
Whether you’re looking for a cool cruise night driver or something worthy
of showing at MCACN, they have the bases covered. We’ll be onsite talking
about what we have in store for MCACN IX in November and accepting
applications, so look us up. And remember, if you aren’t able to make it
to the auction in person, be sure to sign up for the Mecum Infonet, where
you get real-time results and can watch the auction action live from
beginning to end. And the best part is, it is totally free to sign up by

The auctions run from Tuesday, May 16 to Saturday, May 20. To get the full
