MCACN To Feature Original and Long Term Owners
Let’s face it...we all love stories. And when it comes to the cars we love, we certainly all have stories! As I travel around recruiting special cars and special people for the upcoming Muscle Car and Corvette Nationals Tenth Anniversary show, I find the stories I enjoy the most are coming from Original and long-term owners. Fact is, the group of guys and ladies who were smart enough and had the means to keep their vintage American Muscle Cars are among the luckiest people I know. Think about it; if you purchased your 427 Corvette or Hemi ‘cuda back in the day, you were the star of the show, at least for the first few years. Then gas prices started to rise and every insurance company realized that those stripped down Roadrunners and post body Chevelles weren’t ordered that way to be taxi’s! A vast majority of young guys and ladies decided at some point to become “practical” and traded those cars we coveted for cars like Pinto’s and Vega’s or even a utilitarian 4-door or maybe even a station wagon.
Well...we all do what we have to do!
Well...we all do what we have to do!
The exception to the rule are those who somehow managed to hang on to their gas guzzling beasts. Some parked them since they didn’t have very much trade in value, and some continued to drive them. And that is where the MCACN show comes in. This year we would like to extend the invitation to those of you who beat the odds and held on to your Muscle Cars and Corvettes. Original owners often have the best stories and we want to hear them right from the source. And if you are a long-term owner, meaning someone who has owned your factory Muscle Car or Corvette for 30 years or longer, the invite extends to you also. This special display is sure to have some shiny cars in it, but we are also welcoming those that may have a bump or bruise, or as some say “patina.” Not the Barn Find or Hidden Gemtype of patina, since we have another area for that, but road scars that add to the history. This is all about sharing stories and adding to the history that we all enjoy so much. As I often say, it is the cars that bring us together, but it’s the people that make it so great!
If you are an original or long term owner of a real factory muscle car or Corvette and would like to join us for this very special display, please let us know. This is not about awards and judging. This is all about having fun!
