Bloomington Gold Returns to Indianapolis Motor Speedway
Whether you are a Corvette fan or not, there is nothing cooler than the Indianapolis Motor Speedway. This week, the huge Bloomington Gold Corvette show and swap returns to Indy. Guy Larsen and his crew are geared up to present their best event ever. Of course, it’s the prestigious judging that draws the best Corvettes, but there is so much more to this event. A huge swap meet, rows of vendors inside, the Indy Garage row where we will be set up in GG #22, a Salute to the 1968 model year and what may be the largest gathering ever of real and fully documented 1967, ‘68 and ‘69 L/88 Corvettes. And to add to the excitement, they will host an L/88 parade around the famed oval at 2:15 pm Saturday with many of these L/88 Corvettes participating. That alone is worth the price of admission, as the sound of these 427 monsters will certainly grab your attention!
The Bloomington Gold team really do an exceptional job of accommodating both participants and spectators. There is so much going on, that you really need to attend. And of course, if you are a Corvette enthusiast, you can partake in the seminars, see various presentations, a big Chevrolet display, all kinds of vendors, the Corvette for sale area and more. And if you prefer to drive your Corvette, they have an Autocross area going on every day and the huge Corvette Gold Tour Saturday at 4:30. As mentioned, we will be set up on the main aisle in Indy Garage #22. You won’t be able to miss us, as you’ll see our big Triple Diamond signs! Be sure to stop by so we can tell you about what we have going on for the MCACN show this year. Of course, we will be accepting applications for our Corvette Central Triple Diamond display and competition and looking for prime candidates for Dr. Pete’s Corvette Legends Invitational display along with other entries for cars and automotive only vendors. If you have any questions or suggestions, be sure to stop by and see us. Also, if you have registered already and your car is on site, let me know so I can shoot some pictures of it. We are already working on our new MCACN Annual magazine, and there is no better place to shoot pictures than the Indy 500 track! Also make a point of checking out our new Tie-Dye and 10th Anniversary MCACN T-Shirts; they were a huge hit at last weekends Oldsmobile Homecoming and we have sizes Small to 3XL.

Please understand that submitting an entry does not guarantee acceptance, as we are committed to presenting a balanced show of the highest quality. Cars that have been previously shown with us will be held until October 15, 2018 and then reviewed, if we have openings to assure a fresh show for our spectators. If you would like to pre-qualify your car, send pictures and information to bashton426@gmail.com. Our emphasis is always on prime 60’s and 70’s American Muscle and the finest and rarest Corvettes, especially those that are rarely if ever shown. Interesting special interest cars of all vintage are always considered. We like to keep the show interesting!

Please plan now to join us when we return to the Donald E. Stephens Convention Center in Rosemont, (suburban Chicago), Illinois for our Tenth Anniversary event. The show will take place Saturday, November 17, from 9 am – 8 pm, and Sunday, November 18, from 9 am – 5 pm. We were called “Motorhead Mecca” in the recent Hemmings Muscle Machines magazine. If you don’t know why, you really need to see for yourself!
