PURE STOCK MUSCLE CAR DRAGS RETURNS!
Every September, we look forward to heading out to Stanton, Michigan for the Pure Stock Muscle Car Drags. If you've been to the Muscle Car and Corvette Nationals show, you have seen the awesome display of PSMCDR cars, coordinated by Donnie Brass who races his own '65 Corvette. If you haven't seen the display, you need to, as it is always one of the most fun areas of our show. While the cars are "static" at MCACN, they will be running them hard this week at the Mid Michigan Motorplex. And of course, Donnie has done it again with another great group of cars joining us November 20-21.
What may be the most surprising aspect is that nearly every one of these cars is capable of scoring car show awards at any show. With an emphasis on factory stock, in both appearance and modifications, it is really cool seeing someone smoke some Polyglas bias-ply tires! From their website; What distinguishes our race is that drivers may make only limited modifications to their cars, ensuring the Detroit muscle remains just like when it rolled off the assembly line. The result is more than one hundred beautiful, high-quality cars—that do more than sit in the garage. Things kick off Friday for test and tune and then really heat up Saturday with all kinds of match-ups. Some are for fun while others are really competitive. They are all, however, in the spirit of fun. In fact, one of my favorite things about PSMCDR is the camaraderie among the racers and the amount of families participating. In fact, some are multi-generational! Of course, the Straub Family will be there with several of their cars, and I know Adrianna is ready with the Dart! EYES ON DESIGN: Many of you know that for years, I was deeply involved with the EyesOn Design event in the Detroit area. In fact, I served as Chairman for several years! This is a truly outstanding Concours style event held on the beautiful grounds of the Edsel and Eleanor Ford Estate in Grosse Pointe Shores, Michigan. With the emphasis on the design aspect, there are always a wide variety of wheeled vehicles and some truly unexpected surprises. To make it even better, this event is a fund raiser for the Detroit Institute of Ophthalmology, headed up by founder Dr. Phillip Hessburg. While the show has always been held on Fathers Day, it was rescheduled and will take place Sunday, September 19. Check out www.eyesondesign.com for full show and related events information.

ROYAL OAK, MICHIGAN BICYCLE SHOW: If you enjoy Muscle BICYCLES as much as I do, then this is for you. Our good friends Paul and Anne Kleppert, who produced the huge Ann Arbor, Michigan Bicycle show, host this fun gathering, which will take place Sunday, September 19. While not huge like Ann Arbor, it is always a great time with plenty of bicycles of all eras and plenty of parts. You know I'll be there and I have always come away with some "treasures" for our collection! I also hear that MCACN Muscle Bike "Show Within a Show" Official Sponsor Gary Wold and the Koolestuff crew will be there, setting up with some great bikes and parts. SELL YOUR CAR AT MCACN: Did you know we have TWO ways to sell your car at MCACN? For prime examples of American Muscle and the finest Corvettes, we have our VIP Car For Sale area in the center hall. This special section is reserved for just 10-12 prime collectible cars. Located in the center hall, spaces here are just $250 per car. Another way to get your car in front of real buyers is our Car Corral, located at the rear of the "big" room. For just $100 per car, this area offers a great way to offer your car in an incredibly affordable, (cough-cough; CHEAP!) way. There are no commissions for either area, but all cars must be nice and presentable/pre-approved. To register now to sell your car at MCACN, click here: General Car Corral moves in Saturday morning.
Get out there and share your passion this week...and always!
