MORRIS LIONS SHOW AND SWAP; WE'LL BE THERE!
Those who know me know that I am not a huge fan of Fall. Sure, the change of the season can be pretty, but for me it means the boat comes out of the water and the water ski/wakeboard season is over. I absolutely love heat and humidity and especially sunshine and blue sky. So why do I live in Michigan? Simple; access to the Grandkids!
There are, however, some great events that I really enjoy, and they allow me to spread the word about the upcoming Muscle Car and Corvette Nationals show, November 20-21. We have so much going on, you better have some time to chat if you want to hear about it! First up is the neat Morris Lions Club show and swap, Saturday, October 9 and Sunday, October 10 held at the Grundy County Fairgrounds in Morris, Illinois. I have seen close to 1,000 cars when the weather is good on Sunday, and I always find some treasures I have to have in the big swap meet. This really is a perfect venue for a Fall outdoor car show. The Morris Lions of Illinois are a group of volunteer citizens, from a wide range of professions, trades, and ages, united in many causes. The event donates 100% of the proceeds to a variety of very worthy causes and they also have their annual Car Raffle. This year it is a really cool 1966 Chevelle SS 396 convertible! Great cause, great cars and great people...that is what it's all about! New this year is the Saturday Orphan Car Show for makes and models no longer in existence, so that should be a lot of fun, especially for the AMC enthusiasts like me.
To get all the information and to purchase your raffle tickets now, go to www.morrslionsclub.com and look for the MCACN banners in the swap area so I can get you up to date. I will also have some $25 Discount Pre-Sale tickets for the MCACN show with me! (And don't forget; kids 12 and under ALWAYS get into our show FREE).
HOTEL UPDATE: I am pleased to report that we were able to expand our Official Host Hotel room blocks at both the aLoft ($132 per night) and the Hyatt, ($135 per night) with both offering reduced rate parking and extra perks for our MCACN participants and spectators. Use these links to book your rooms now! The Hyatt is attached to the Donald E. Stephens Convention Center via the enclosed overhead walkway and the aLoft provides door to door shuttle service. BOTH are convenient to the show and they know what we are all about and anxious to have us back! Click Here for more information.

(Move-in for general Car Corral is Saturday morning). All cars must be pre-approved and pre-paid. To submit your car for consideration, email me at bashton426@gmail.com
Please Note; No beaters or junk!

PRESALE TICKETS: As mentioned above, I will have Discount Pre-Sale tickets with me at the Morris Lions Club show and swap and also the upcoming Mecum Chicago Auction, October 21-23. Discount "hard" tickets are also available now at our Chicago area outlets, including Nickey Performance in Loves Park, Bill Stasek Chevrolet in Wheeling and South Oak Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep in Matteson along with several other outlets. Corvette Mike Midwest will have them by next Friday. Click here to see the full list of discount Presale ticket outlets. We are finalizing details now for our Online Presale ticket sales. While there is no discount for online tickets due to the exorbitant service charges (which we are absorbing), they do allow "Express Entry '' to get you into the show faster and with less face to face contact.

MECUM CHICAGO: We will also be setting up at the Mecum Chicago Auction in Schaumburg, Illinois October 21-23. This is another fun event and they have a stellar lineup of Muscle and a whole lot more. To see what will be crossing the block, go to www.mecum.com and look for our display.

ROSEMONT & BUILDING UPDATE: We met with building management last week and they had nothing but GOOD NEWS. The entire Rosemont community is geared up and excited for our return. Some of the best news was in regards to building availability for move-in and expanded availability for trailer parking! I can assure you, the upgrades we will be implementing are going to make the challenging task of move-in MUCH easier and smoother for everyone. Our show is always a work in progress and we are committed to making improvements for all of our participants and our spectators. Remember...our show is in ROSEMONT, Not Chicago. Rosemont is a very safe and family friendly suburban community.

COVID RESTRICTIONS: As of today, the only Covid related restriction in the State of Illinois that affects us is the mask mandate for all indoor events. We highly recommend that you wear a mask and we will have them available for you onsite. While your comfort and the safety of all is among our highest priorities, it is great to see that the State of Illinois is among the highest in vaccine rates and the important numbers related to Covid in Illinois and specifically Cook County are really good. There is a possibility that if this trend continues, the mask mandate may be lifted by the time of our show.
Looking forward to seeing you in Morris and Schaumburg,
and of course at the MCACN show, November 20-21!
