While many think performance was dead in 1974, that actually wasn't the case. You see, if you knew your way around an order sheet, and worked with a knowledgeable salesperson, you really could get yourself a true Muscle Car. If you are a true enthusiast, you certainly know that Pontiac produced one of their hottest engines ever; the 455 Super Duty. While they are certainly rare, if you checked the right box you could get one under the hood of your Trans Am or Formula Firebird. Indeed, they didn't build very many and today they are among the most sought after Pontiac Muscle Cars in existence. So where would you ever see one? Well; the answer is simple; the 2024 Muscle Car and Corvette Nationals show in Rosemont (Suburban Chicago) Illinois!

Not only will you see the two above, but you will be able to see an entire row of them. In fact, today we already have four of the ultra rare Super Duty Formula's joining us and several SD Trans Ams. Seeing even one of these is a treat, so just picture that for a moment....And we are just getting started.

There were others still vying for the performance minded buyers hard earned bucks. Mother Mopar had a 440 available for the Chargers and the Roadrunner/GTX. Ford offered a 302 V8 in the all new and significantly smaller Mustang II, Chevy had the 454 for the Corvette and Chevelle and even American Motors had a hot 401 available for the Javelin/AMX. While these cars were not exactly flying out of the dealerships, they were out there if you knew how to play the game. And that is what our Class of '74 Invitational display, Presented by Garner Restorations is all about. And let's not forget, this is also when the manufacturers decided to liven things up a bit with wild graphics and spoilers. While they may not have eclipsed the 400+ horsepower mark, in my humble opinion, they were pretty cool! So with that being said, if you are an owner of a performance oriented 1974 model year Muscle Machine, please consider joining us to help educate those who think that performance was dead after 1971. Send pics and info to me at bashton426@gmail.com for consideration. As always, looking only for the "best of the best!"

SPREADING THE WORD: Of course, this is the time of year when we hit as many events as we can to spread the word about what we do. We are dedicated to presenting the finest family friendly indoor show with the emphasis on American Muscle and the best of the best Corvettes of the 60's and 70's. We also like to add some spice with some of the newer vehicles, including a special display devoted to the Malaise Era (73-87) and Modern Day Supercars from Nickey Performance and others. If it has "too much" horsepower, you are likely to find it at MCACN. (But can you ever really have too much horsepower?) So we ask for your help in spreading the word by letting people know who we are, what we do and how cool the cars and most importantly, the enthusiasts that join us are. Every car has a story and we want you to share yours.

If you attend a lot of cruise nights or car shows and would be willing to give out our postcards or flyers, let me know and we will send you a package of them asap!

OK, so we have been on Facebook since our inception back in 2009, so I am pretty comfortable with that. We post something nearly every day, as we have so much to talk about. Now when it comes to Instagram and the others, well...we are just learning! Please help us out by liking, sharing and following us. The MCACN show is unique in that we are 100% gate dependent, meaning we need spectators to buy tickets for us to remain viable, and we aren't afraid to say it. Believe me, it is exceptionally expensive to produce our show and we are committed to it being the best and the freshest show possible. We truly appreciate the continued support of not only our fine sponsors, car owners and vendors, but also our all important spectators.

Although it is our 16th year, 2024 will be our 15th Show!

Please plan on joining us November 23-24 at he beautiful Donald E. Stephens Convention Center and bring your friends and family. We have great deals at SEVEN Official Host Hotels with rates starting at just $124.00 per night at the Crowne Plaza, right across the street. It's not too early to book your rooms now, (Heck; the Embassy Suites is already sold out!) so do it now and be right in the middle of all the action. It will be here before you know it!

WISHING YOU, YOUR FAMILY AND FRIENDS A SAFE AND HAPPY JULY 4TH HOLIDAY! Let's not forget what this day is all about; Freedom and Independence, and let's kick back, wave the flag, do some bar-b-q-ing, watch some fireworks. And of course, get out in your cool car, truck or maybe even on a Muscle Bicycle.

With sincere appreciation!
