Mary Watt Yeadon/Bellflower Art Named MCACN Featured Artist
While the Muscle Car and Corvette Nationals show is all about American Muscle and the finest Corvettes, it is the people that make the show. I love seeing friends reunite each year, (many just once a year!) and also seeing how many new friendships are formed. We have awesome owners, fantastic and very respectful spectators, the very best sponsors and some very talented people among us. And when it comes to talent, being able to spotlight some of the most talented automotive artists is something I really enjoy. With that being said, this year we would like to announce our good friend Mary Watt-Yeadon of Bellflower Art as our Official Featured Artist. Mary has been with us for years now, set up on the left wall area of the "big" room. She always has new art and she is truly a pleasure to talk to. Mary and her husband Mitch work really hard attending events across the country showing her beautiful art. Allow us to share some information from her website: "After spending several years in the shop, restoring vintage cars with my husband and son, I decided to try my hand at painting some of my favorites. There's only one way to explain how I am able to paint like this. The Lord has blessed me! It has been challenging and fun finding the right angles and reflections, making the chrome pop. I can hardly wait to finish one, so I can start the next. I sometimes have to wonder at this gift God has given me. I truly love what I do."
Mary has a wide variety of Limited Edition prints and is always happy to discuss commission work. When you see her display, you will be blown away by the diversity of what she can do. HOTEL UPDATE: We work VERY hard to make sure that ALL of our participants and our all important spectators can book accommodations easily and at great rates. It is true that the DoubleTree, the Embassy Suites and the Hilton are now sold out. NOT TO WORRY, as there is availability at the Crowne Plaza (just $119.00 per night), the aLoft and now, we have added the Hyatt Regency, as they have assured us they are ready to step up and do it right. The aLoft has singles and doubles available at just $134.00 per night and they offer door to door direct shuttle service. The Hyatt has singles and doubles available at $135.00 per night, and remember, they have the enclosed overhead bridge so that you never have to be outside! CAR ENTRY: We are indeed FULL for car entries, other than our standard Car Corral For Sale section with limited spots offered at just $100.00 per spot, and our VIP Car For Sale area in the center hall for $250.00 per spot. HOT ROD POWER TOUR: Many of you know, I have had the pleasure of doing the "Long Haul" for the Hot Rod Power Tour 8 times over the years. This year, Ian and I are hitting the road, as we have wanted to do this together for many years. If there is one thing we have learned from the past year plus, it is to not put off anything that may be on your Bucket List! As always, I will be spreading the word about the MCACN show, so if you are going on Power Tour, whether at one stop or all of them, look us up. I am pretty sure we will be the only ones on the tour in a Matte Grey AMG Mercedes with a pair of vintage Schwinn Muscle Bikes on the roof! Come see us, as we will have some cool free stickers for you.
