*2022 Sneak Peek
The only downside of summer for me is when there are too many great events happening at the same time. That is the case this week, as there are THREE events I'd like to attend, all happening this week.
Over in Crystal Lake, Illinois our good friends from the Cruisin' Tigers Pontiac Club are geared up and ready for their annual Indian Uprising all Pontiac weekend. This is a really neat event, and if you are a Pontiac aficionado, this is the place to be. They moved to the Crystal Lake Holiday Inn, which proved to be the perfect venue for this event. Lots of shade, a super big paved parking lot and a decent Host Hotel. Add in the 500+ Pontiacs, free seminars, a swap meet and live music and you have all the makings of another great event. The Muscle Car and Corvette Nationals is a proud sponsor and we highly recommend attending. To get the full schedule of events and directions, go to https://cruisintigers.com/
AMO Internationals: Back closer to my neighborhood, American Motors fans have the AMO International in Novi, Michigan taking place August 10-13. For AMC fans, the International moves every year and this year it is in the Detroit area. Here you will see an ALL AMC and Rambler show along with a big swap meet, several coordinated cruises and meet-ups, a full banquet and row after row of AMC's. Click here for directions and the full schedule of events.
And while we're on the subject of AMC's, I have to give special Thanks to Kevin Shope, the owner of what is most likely the finest SC/Rambler that you saw Unveiled at MCACN a few years ago. Kevin has gathered up darn near everything we need to get the Hornet repaired, and he is delivering it all to Ian at the AMO International! The spirit of car enthusiast helping car enthusiast is one of the things that makes this hobby great.
You know I'd love to be there, but alas...

MOPAR NATIONALS: Those who know me know that this is kind of a "Homecoming" for me. What started over 40 years ago around a kitchen table has become one of the most fun All Mopar (and AMC!) events. You'll see rows of prime Mopars, a huge swap meet, the midway vendor displays, the Model Car Contest that we sponsor Saturday, Burn-out contests, and non-stop drag racing. This takes place at National Trail Raceway in Hebron, near Columbus, Ohio. This is always kind of a Reunion/Homecoming for us, as we get to spread the word about the MCACN show and also see our old Auto Know friends. We have a HUGE 20 x 40' display in the midway, where we host the Model Car Contest Saturday, with FREE entry, and also offer up a prime selection of Mopar Collectibles, including original ads, sales brochures, magazines, die-cast cars, road tests, promotional models and so much more. We only do a big spread like this once a year, so c'mon out, and see what we have in store for you at MCACN this year!
We will also have a Limited Amount of 2021 Auto World MCACN Event Cars for just $10.00, and some of the Steven Juliano Rapid Transit System Posters for just $5.00, or FREE when you get a friend to sign up for our email list. Once these are gone, they're gone, so get yours while you can!
And speaking of MCACN Official Event Cars, ask us about the new 2022 Johnny Lightning MCACN Official Event Car, which you will be able to buy at the show, November 19-20. (Hint; if you are a Mopar Fan, you're going to be VERY Happy!)
We are located on the end of ROW M, Spaces 6-7 (NEW LOCATION!) so look for the Muscle Car and Corvette Nationals banners and plan on stopping by. For all the information on The Nationals, go to http://www.moparnats.org/. The Nats is also celebrating the 1972 model year with a special anniversary display, so we will be searching out the "best of the best" to invite to MCACN for our Class of '72 Invitational If you have something special and are going to The Nationals, please come and see us! (Wing Cars, Charger 500's, 1967 and 1972 model year cars, especially).
While August has certainly snuck up on us, we still have a lot of summer to enjoy our hobby. Next week we have a variety of events in Monterey, California including the Mecum Monterey Auction, along with the big Woodward Cruise here in Michigan. While I'd rather be in Monterey, we will be heading to Woodward, and I'm sure we'll be having a blast.
Hope to see you out there!
