DANA MECUM'S INDIANAPOLIS FALL SPECIAL + MORRIS LIONS SHOW & SWAP THIS WEEK
As we wind down the season I find yet another week where I wish I could be in two places at the same time. And I will be, in a way. Kicking off Thursday is Dana Mecums Indy Fall Special. While Dana and the crew used to hit Schaumburg in October, the new home is certainly far better suited to what they do. And with over 1,000 cars scheduled to cross the block and a familiar setting, I think they made the right move! There are always some great buys in the Fall, as some decide to switch up their collections. I am seeing everything from some hot Mopars to a very real 68.5 Cobra Jet Mustang and an LS6 Chevelle convertible on the high end. And if you are looking to enter the hobby, this is a great place to find an entry-level collector car. Of course, there will also be some cool motorcycles, Mini-Bikes and Road Art!
I'll be hitting the scene early to do a bit of television work, (will be talking Corvette, this time!) for an upcoming episode on the Motor Trend channel. MORRIS LIONS CLUB 38th SHOW AND SWAP: Since this one is really close to our "backyard", I never miss the big Morris Lions Club show and swap. Talking place Saturday, October 4th and Sunday, October 5th in Morris, Illinois. We will have our MCACN tent setup in the swap area as always, in spaces 150-152! I have seen over 800 cars and trucks at the Morris Lions Club show, and the swap meet has rows and rows of parts and treasures. I always manage to find something I don't need, but have to have. And while you are there, be sure to purchase some tickets for the Lions Club annual car raffle. This year the Lions are giving away a really cool Torch Red '69 Nova.
