MID AMERICA MOTORWORKS TEAM TO SHOW ONE-OFF CERV IVb
We often say to expect the unexpected at the Muscle Car and Corvette Nationals show. Our goal is to always present a fresh and exciting show, and to host some truly unique vehicles that you may never get the chance to see, or for that matter, may not even know exist. When it comes to General Motors test vehicles, so many have been crushed or otherwise destroyed, being able to see one that has survived, up close and in person is a real treat.
We are pleased to announce Mike Yager and the Mid America Motorworks crew will be showing a significant Corvette, direct from the MY Garage Collection. The CERV IVb was the official name of the test vehicle that the General Motors Corvette group secretly contracted in 1993 to build as a test car for the 1997 Corvette. The Corvette group directed the project, with Chevrolet paying for it. General Motors’ management was not told about it, for fear that they would cancel it.
The Corvette team developed the CERV IV in 90 days in early 1993, got approval to build the car around April of that year and eventually turned the model into the C5, which arrived in 1997. CERV IVb was the only CERV designed with a front-mounted engine. Now that is unique! This car will be featured in the Mid America Motorworks display, as we welcome Mid America Motorworks as one of our newest Official Sponsors.
As many of you know, Mid America Motorworks, located in Effingham, IL, is an aftermarket supplier and manufacturer of parts and accessories for Corvette and Air Cooled VWs. Each year, Mid America Motorworks welcomes thousands of Corvette and Volkswagen enthusiasts for Corvette Funfest in September and Funfest for Air Cooled VW in June.
It is also home to Effingham Music Fest, where the biggest names in music take the Funfest Amphitheater stage. With the MY Garage Museum and Retail Store, a full-service mail order catalog and an ever-growing list of annual events, Mid America Motorworks headquarters is quickly becoming recognized as an entertainment destination. SELL YOUR COLLECTOR CAR AT MCACN: Did you know you can offer your collector car for sale at the MCACN show? We have two ways to do it. Our standard Car For Sale spots are just $150 per car. Located at the rear of the "big" room, we move these cars in Saturday morning. We also have just a few more spots in our VIP Car For Sale area, for prime examples of American Muscle and the best Corvettes. This area is in the center hall, fully stanchioned, and has a bit more room to show off your car. These spots are $250 per car. There are no additional fees, so this may just be the most affordable way to get your car in front of the right eligible buyers. All cars must be Pre-Approved. (No junk or beaters!) HOTEL ROOMS: WE'VE GOT 'EM! We pretty much take over the entire Rosemont area when we hit town, and they welcome us with open arms.
